Well, that officially confirms it for me. Dixie Kong is Diddy in drag! Dixie would be awesome to have in there.

I'm a fan of all the Mario games. SMB3 was my favorite because it's drastic increase in quality from the previous Mario Bros game (truly, Super Mario Bros 1). Even though I enjoyed SMBW more than 3, 3 had that impact. SMBW was just a minor improvement on 3 in my opinion and not the giant leap in quality, which was fine.

As for Sunshine and Mario DS, I'm not as much a fan. I felt Sunshine was frustratingly difficult at times, and I don't have that kind of time to dedicate to gaming anymore. Also, given that there was a central theme involved (Delfino Plaza), the levels had a similar feel. This is cool but I'm not used to it in a Mario game. I also felt the DS game was just too short. SMB3 felt like a longer title (more levels, more pathways in levels, more items and bonuses, etc). I would have liked to see a return of the Koopa Kids instead of fighting the generic Koopa Kid every time. I did appreciate the different boss battles, and not Bowser after every level. Mario DS was more about the nostalgia.

I have the feeling that Mario Galaxies will be able to recapture that extra something that SMB3 and Mario 64 had that Sunshine and DS didn't.

Nintendo Gaming / Jam Sessions
« on: September 13, 2007, 10:29:18 AM »
Ok, I am very interested in this guitar sim, but I need to know some key bits of info. Does this game come with an amp? If so, is the amp worth it? Also, is there a way to connect this to a computer to be used in computer-based digital music programs? Would I be better off buying a keyboard with additional features (like the ability to sound like a guitar, drums, etc) that can connect to the computer instead of Jam Sessions?

Also, give reviews or the actual product itself. I like to hear what people think about non-games and simulation products, how close it is to the real thing.

I don't think lack of drawing skill will hinder this game, although it can make the overall experience better. Nothing more worth it than drawing in a nicely detailed Link and making a Zelda-themed game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Official Smash Bros. Dojo Update Discussion
« on: September 07, 2007, 05:26:41 AM »
Why didn't I find this topic earlier? Anyway......

I think that the collectable items will be scattered about just like in Melee. It will definately give some more incentive to play the other game modes (not that they have to worry about people not playing the other game modes). It would be a bit dull if EVERYTHING had to be unlocked through story mode. I do hope alternate options are available too, like how Mewtwo in Melee can be unlocked by playing 20 hours or 200 matches in VS mode, whichever came first.

Ok, I can understand the concerns that this is just like EVERY other RPG, but there aren't many on the DS. So with that said, I welcome this game, and it's pretty graphics.

Nintendo Gaming / Smash Bros Custom Music?
« on: September 07, 2007, 04:59:07 AM »
Oh, I just saw the "My Music" feature on the Dojo website. This made me smile a little bit.... but would make me smile a LOT is the ability to add in your own tracks like in Exite Truck. I would love to see Samus battle Ganondorf to the Sephiroth theme. Anywho, I think it would just be a really cool feature, and if it's in there it should be an unlockable bosun to make it that much more special.

I always wanted Diddy Kong in Smash Bros, and I'm glad he's finally gonna be in it. Now we just need Dixie, but she can be an assist trophy. Having them two in the Ice Climbers style would be cool too.

I just find it funny how they showed off the opening scene, THEN all after the fact, confirmed Peach as a playable character.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:ITT Should malon be in SSBB

Forget Malon..... Malo should be in it. Nah, he'd just insult all the characters. Heh, Malon can be that useless item that's thrown at characters, she'd replace Mr. Saturn.

If anyone has a rare pokemon that's seemingly impossible to get, I'd be willing to trade a deoxys from fire red. It's legit, and then I cloned it with MAX drive (prior to hurricane Katrina, before my GC and stuff got destroyed). Anyway, I'm not even looking to keep it, I just want to complete my pokedex and get all the rares out the way. If you're interested, please pm me. These are the Deoxy's stats:

Nature: Serious
Somewhat vain.
Happily eats anything.
Level: 30

HP - 70
ATK - 104
DEF - 43
S ATK - 96
S DEF - 44
SPD - 99

Yeah, I got the sarcasm of that statement, but I haven't seen Tales of Symphonia 2 mentioned in this forum as an official game, although I did not check that other Tales topic first. My bad.

Wii will have support. The sequal to Tales of Symphonia will be made for the Wii.

Oh, so pretty. I think I want this. They seem to be working quite nicely with the graphics engine.

And you expected us to pass up on delicious PIE? I agree that there should be more 2d fighting games that aren't over-the-top combo crazy or excessive uni-hit slug (as in the slow creature) fests. I personally like the over-the-top combo crazy games, but usually so many things are going on at the same time, it gets confusing (unless you get used to it). I really think all three should have a place, but right now the 1st one is dominating in popularity (or taking a huge percentage of the overall popularity of 2d fighters).

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Disc Read Errors? On MY Wii?
« on: July 13, 2007, 05:56:27 AM »
Same here, I have never had a read error, but with only one exception. That exception is the incompatible version of Gamecube Freeloader. I was all psyched to play some Naruto GNT4. Well, another friend had a compatible Freeloader, so we had some Naruto goodness.

That's fine. She would be in the same world, so that consistency would still be there.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Naruto : Shinobi Retsuden DS
« on: July 10, 2007, 10:27:57 AM »
I'm not sure if this game is coming to the US market just yet. This is the first one done like this on the DS though (in Japan). There's a likelyhood that this may be localized once the US show gets close enough in the storyline so there are no spoilers (at least that's what I'm hoping).

Oh, even though you have the Japanese Naruto GC games, this might still be a possibility for you, as it is for the DS, so you can get your GNT style on while on the go.

Nintendo Gaming / Naruto : Shinobi Retsuden DS
« on: July 10, 2007, 09:20:16 AM »
To say this is on the DS, it actually looks quite interesting. The style of the game is like the Clash of Ninja series. The characters and their animations look great, but I'm not a fan of the infinite plane backgrounds (like in Tekken). There aren't a whole lot of selectable characters, but the roster is big enough for a DS game (definately bigger than Clash of Ninja 1). Characters include:

Naruto
Sasuke
Sakura
Kakashi
Neji
Rock Lee
Shikamaru
Gaara
Temari
Gai
Itachi
One-tailed Kyubi Naruto
Curse Seal 2 Sasuke

The stances are a little squaty like in the 3d Mortal Kombat games, but it's forgivable. This one seems like a translated version wouldn't spoil anything, but they just had to put in Kyubi Naruto and CS2 Sasuke, but oh well. Oh, and here's a video of it in action:

Any thoughts?

Then it wouldn't be a Tales of Symphonia 2. They would have to name it something else, like Tales of Demonica, Tales of Hysteria, Tales of Tales, or Tales of Something Relevant. A sequal would have to keep it in the same realm or at least use the same characters.

Use Final Fantasy X2 as the example (although many hated that game compared to X).

I can see co-op play being quite fun. They would need to up the difficulty a bit for that mode, but it would be great to have an active nurse or understudy type character working with you, assisting with operations.

I would like to see (or hear rather) complete voice acting (done well). Dialog really helps to boost character personality. It would be a huge plue if done right.

I wish that they would allow USB support. I just got a new Fusion pad with the 1in insert. I don't want to buy another dance pad.

24
I can't wait for another sequal to ToS. I hope that they improve the graphics (overhaul of the overworld's graphics), add new attacks (and maybe some characters), and include EVERY possible RPG cliche' imaginable (although well blended together) in tribute to the 1st game.

General Chat / RE:Get your custom title here
« on: July 08, 2007, 01:04:28 PM »
Well, if it's not dead, I seriously want a change of title, as my current one was fitting only when I had a big avatar prior to finding the specific rules. I immediately changed it when I saw the rules. Now I feel the title is just disrespectful to me.

Anyway, I want this one:

"Poke' artist"
