Nintendo Gaming / RE: Nintendo is working to make online games.

Frankly, I gotta agree with Djunknown. Currently, Pokemon is perfect for MMORPGs! Instead of walking around in a huge online world fighting monsters, you're walking around in a huge online world capturing them and training them! It's not completely new and innovative. But it's still quite different from what it is like currently and such.

Here's an idea.

Smash Bros: Nintendo vs. Sega.

Hehe. Sorta like the whole Capcom vs. SNK thing... except not. Yeah.

The stuff is probably just hard coded onto a ROM chip on the mobo. The same way a BIOS on a computer works.

It's probably because there's a much stronger spring in the L and R trigger buttons that pushes back when pressed. That kind of pressure on a finger and the muscles around it could be too much for some people's hands.

Yes, in real life, snipers do sit in one place for a while, but in a game, it just gets tedious and annoying. Real police officers do not just sit outside the building where a criminal is holding a hostage. Real terrorists don't hide in a corner when they have a freaking bomb to plant. Real counter-terrorist operatives dont sit in the far end of the building when there's a primed bomb about to blow.

Counter-Strike is not a deathmatch game where the objective is to kill as many people as fast as possible. It's a game with objectives that you are suppose to follow.

If you think camping ruins the game because the weapons are off-balanced, blame Valve, not the players. What I don't understand is that you then back that comment up saying that you can "run around" with the sniper rifle, stop briefly, and get a kill. Again, sounds like a problem with game balance, not with the players.

I agree with you on this though. Many people will agree the AWP/AWM is overpowered, but hell, some people learn to live with it. I've learned to take care of these guys without too many problems.

Nintendo Gaming / Why Is Eternal Darkness Regarded So Highly?
« on: March 25, 2003, 05:57:44 PM »
The game is fun and great the first time through. But has low replay value and gets old quickly. After you experience the game once it's the kind that you'd rather keep on the shelve so that you can revel at its quality (in regards to plot and gameplay mechanics).

I greatly enjoyed the game, ran through the entire thing three times with the three different alignments, but after that, it's just gonna sit near the bottom of my game pile because there's not much randomness in it that changes how the game is played. Sort of like the exact opposite of say... Super Smash Bros. Melee.

perhaps you dont understand me, obviously the game is set somewhere in history and say you walk into a town you see a black smith? no problem, a priest? no problem a prostitute? oh no that cant be there moan moan moan

my point is, if shes hanging around a bar or something, then it makes sence for her to be there, and obviously a prostitute isn't going to be in a full length ball gown, shes going to be showing some skin, and if its done correctly then its not really a problem, its just adding to the atmosphere of the time the game is set, and like i said alternatively if every female NPC is a big breasted wench with their gear out for all to see, then the developers have just done that to hook in horny little teenagers.

please try to understand my point of veiw, regardless if you think prostitution is good or bad, they do exist, and have done for a great number of years so having one that actually assists with the story (as it would apear in this game) isn't a bad thing at all

On the nose.

Though obviously a controversial issue, prostitutes have been in a lot of video games.  Thankfully, a lot of companies have done a good job of putting them in their proper places in regards to the theme of the games. Baldur's Gate is a good example.

Bill Gates and Saddam Hussien.....you've got to be kidding me. I don't hate  Bill Gates, I mean the guy clawed his way to the top and made a ton of money, I hope I can do the same some day. That said I don't like MS, I don't like the fact that if anyone else including Sony where running a division with losses like MS is on X-box they'd be belly up by now. To my knowledge Bill Gates doesn't torture, kill, or maim MS employees....last time I checked Saddam Hussien does do these things to his own people. Not a fair comparison at all. I know you have a dislike for Bill Gates....but come on man.

Agreed. Bill Gates was an extremely shrewd business man. I've got to give him kudos from being a mere geek to a tycoon, but now Microsoft is just a giant greedy squid that'll pull in anything it can get its hands on.

Hussien... Uhm... He'just bad. No need to invade Iraq all over again though.

The reason I stay away from online games that require a monthly fee is because I think that, in terms of gameplay, the monthly fee is not worth it.

Yes, the fees does keep the servers online and active 24/7 and so on. But if I'm going to be paying a monthly fee, I expect more than just a server I can log into and play but also improvements or additions to the gameplay as time passes. Most games do not have anything like that however. Look at PSO. It's still the same game now as it was when it first came out, there have been no regular monthly additional gameplay elements to it.

It's just like playing the single player game, except more people are in it for some reason. But that's not to say PSO isn't a fun game, I really loved it actually when I played 4 split screen with my friends.
