Early GameCube games, Wii games spanning the generation, and a few 3DS titles plague my backlog.
Current Backlog Size: 11 Wii games, 9 GameCube games, 3 3DS games.
Goal: See the end credits for all of these.
Progress Since Last Update: N/A
Having a game backlog isn’t a new thing for me. My backlogging woes have plagued me ever since I got stuck in Donkey Kong 64 over a decade ago. Nearly two console generations later, and many games bought at launch but never played, my backlog has grown into a tremendous pile. Even though moving to Japan has kept me from many of the games that I hold near and dear to my heart (even if I have never played them!), I did manage to bring a few notable titles with me. Titles that I have heard people talking about for years but just never got around to beating. Not only that, but of course I’m constantly adding to my shame with the purchase of new titles. While I’m missing a few of my Wii must plays at the moment, I have opted to include some key titles from my GameCube collection that I have brought with me to the Land of the Rising Sun as well as a few titles I have yet to beat on Nintendo 3DS. Here we go:

- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- Goldeneye 007
- Kirby's Epic Yarn
- The Last Story
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
- The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest
- Madworld
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Pandora's Tower
- Xenoblade Chronicles
- Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbos' Treasure
GameCube
- Eternal Darkness
- F-Zero GX
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
- Ikaruga
- The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
- The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
- Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
- Pikmin
- Tales of Symphonia
3DS
- Biohazard: Revelations
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
- Mario Kart 7
My list is no where near as ridiculous as the other guys’, but these are some games that have been plaguing me for years. Of course, like I mentioned before, I own plenty of other games that I would love to beat (Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7) but right now I just simply don’t have access to them. So this is just going to have to do. If I were to add in the Virtual Console purchases I have made over the years on the Wii and 3DS, I would be adding 83 more games to this list. Something tells me that trying to beat over 100 games before the Wii U comes out might be nigh impossible.
Looking through the list, I see a TON of games that are going to be at least 30 hour+ experiences! With the exception of The Last Story, I have hardly touched any of them, which is going to make the play throughs all the more difficult. My goal with those games and with the short ridiculous ones that I should’ve beaten by now is to just get to the end credits. I’m not concerned with getting 100% in any of them. Considering how large my backlog is (if you want to see a look at my backlog spanning all the systems I own, check it out), I would be lucky just to get to that point.
If I somehow manage to get through this list of games in the coming months, I might even go back and see what DS games I need to beat as well. As it stands right now, I’ll be content if I even get through a few of these games, some of which are classics, that I have been told over and over again I need to beat.
I just started on Eternal Darkness and am an hour or so in and loving it. With the next update, you’ll hear more about that and hopefully more.
