With so many great Wii games coming in the next year, it will be hard to find time to play them all!
The Wii has often been criticized for its lack of core games, with many claiming that the console is too family-friendly oriented. While it is indeed true that the Wii has received more than its fair share of casual titles, many gamers do not realize that the system still has quite a few core titles, with many more casual and hardcore games to come in the next twelve months.
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Good Feel / HAL Laboratory
Genre: 2-D Platformer
Release Date: Fall 2010

Kirby has been a ghost on home consoles outside of Smash Bros. appearances for a number of years. For a long time, a Kirby console title would appear on release lists with a doomed "TBA" release date. Finally, after years of speculation as to whether or not this game even existed, Kirby's Epic Yarn was announced at E3 2010.
Developed by Good Feel, the studio behind Wario Land: Shake It!, Epic Yarn might not be that console game that was long in the works, but it certainly looks to be the most interesting Kirby game in years. The art style is like a handmade storybook. Kirby is made out of yarn, and the world around is adorned with buttons, fabric, and zippers. Kirby's normal powers aren't present, and instead he uses a whip to grab items and enemies.
It also features co-op, with the second player controlling a blue blob with a crown. Kirby and his new partner turn into various objects during the game, including a car when they run, a balloon when they float, and a submarine when they're underwater. The game is non-fatal, as the two heroes cannot die, but you try to get medals and collect hidden objects, which could potentially unlock more content.
