Sega's Sonic anniversary project will not see a Wii release.

Sega has confirmed that Sonic Generations will not be released on the Wii due to the system not being an HD-capable console. The title is set to be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Wii Party and Wii Sports Resort Drop in Price Wii

Nintendo's multiplayer hits see a new price later in the month.

Nintendo announced today that two of their biggest Wii titles, Wii Party and Wii Sports Resort will drop in price. Both games will be priced at $39.99 from April 25.

Wii Sports Resort was original released in North America on July 26, 2009, and has sold over 10.7 million copies in North America. The title is a sequel to the Wii-pack in title, Wii Sports, and it is a showcase title for the Wii MotionPlus peripheral.

Mega Man 5 Arriving on Virtual Console

The Virtual Console arrival of Mega Man's 5th NES adventure has been revealed by the ESRB.

A leak by the ESRB has confirmed that Mega Man 5 is poised for a Virtual Console release.

The fifth Mega Man game, originally released in 1992, has players once again taking control of the Blue Bomber as he defeats another set of robot masters, this time lead by Proto Man. The title's innovation lies in Beat, a robot bird that can be found by collecting letters that spell MEGA MAN V.

Wii Price Dropped to $169 Wii

The new price is unanimous across most major retailers in the United States.

The price of the Wii has dropped to $169 in the United States at all major retail outlets in the United States. The system, which still has an official MSRP of $199, is being sold at the new lower price by Target, GameStop, Toys 'R Us, Amazon, and Best Buy. The bundle still includes Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

The Blue Bomber's 16-bit debut has finally arrived in North America.

This week in Nintendo downloads, we have five new titles, and one new demo available for download on the Wii Shop Channel and the DSi Shop.

For Virtual Console, we have Mega Man X, the Super NES debut of the classic Mega Man franchise. A spin-off of the original Mega Man titles, this game puts a new spin on a classic formula, with a shiny new coat of 16-bit paint. Mega Man X is available on the Wii Shop Channel for 800 Wii Points ($8).

The Super Nintendo classic is coming to your Wii soon.

Final Fantasy III is coming to North American Virtual Console according to the ESRB.

Actually the sixth entry in the series, the game came out on Virtual Console in Japan and PAL territories in March 2011.

Final Fantasy III was the third game in the series to make it to North America, coming out in October 1994. It was later re-released on PlayStation in 1999 and Game Boy Advance in 2007.

NPD Sales Data Puts Pokémon at the Top DS3DSWii

Nintendo's pocket monsters rule the software sales chart for March.

Pokémon Black and White were the top selling games for the month of March.

According to the latest NPD sales data, the fifth generation in the Pokémon series claimed the first two slots in the top ten, ending Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops's four month reign. According to Nintendo, the combined titles sold approximately 2.5 million units, breaking the previous record set by Pokémon Gold and Silver, released in 2000.

Devil Survivor 2 Receives Release Date for Japan

The sequel to Atlus's RPG series will grace Japanese stores this July.

Devil Survivor 2 for Nintendo DS has been given a June release date for Japan.

Possible Wii Price Cut Next Month RumorWii

Rumors are swirling of a $50 price cut for Nintendo's little console. 

Technology blog Engaget is reporting that Wii may receive a $50 price cut on May 15. Their sources indicate that the Wii will retail for the new price of $150. 

The rumor does not include any information about what might be bundled with the console. The current primary bundle includes both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

Nintendo begins promotion for the upcoming Pokémon title.

Pokémon Typing Tutor DS is set to be released in Japan on April 21, and with its release date rapidly approaching, Nintendo has sent out new content to the Wii's Everyone's Nintendo Channel to promote the title. Besides a new trailer for the game, Nintendo has also put a commercial for the game on the service.

Nintendo 3DS Breaks Australian Sales Records 3DS

Nintendo's new handheld starts out strong in Australia. 

In just four days on the market the Nintendo 3DS has broken sales records in Australia. In that time frame, the handheld was sold more than 31,000 times, breaking the record previously set by the Wii.

For comparison, the Wii sold 32,000 units in its first full week back in 2006 and has now gone on to sell over 2.1 million units in Australia.

Dead or Alive Dimensions will now arrive late next month in Japan.

After being delayed once by the March earthquake, Tecmo Koei has announced a new release date for its upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, Dead or Alive Dimensions. Originally slated for a release on March 24, the game will now arrive on May 19 at ¥5,800.

The upcoming Nintendo DS game has sprung its head up in this week's Famitsu. UPDATED with details.

After first being announced last year at Nintendo's annual fall conference, Atsumete! Kirby completely fell off the radar. That is, until it resurfaced in the most recent issue of Famitsu.

Atsumete! Kirby is the fourth Kirby game to be released for the Nintendo DS. In this quirky platformer, players must take control of 10 different Kirbys by consuming fruit scattered across each stage.
