This November, you can go back to the 1964 Olympics as sprite-based Mario and Sonic characters.
10 classic 2D events will be packaged into Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 when it comes out on Switch on November 5 in North America and November 8 in Europe.
The 10 events (listed below) all hail from the 1964 Olympics, which were also held in Tokyo. The kicker is they are all presented in a 2D, retro aesthetic, complete with old sprites of Mario and Sonic characters.

Alternate reality museum exploration, eh.
The next game from the studio behind Surgeon Simulator is a bit of a left turn.
Bossa Studios will be publishing The Bradwell Conspiracy this fall from development studio A Brave Plan. Set in a Stonehenge museum, the unnamed player has to escape the museum after an explosion with the help of a museum employee and 2026 technology including alternate reality glasses.

September's RPG party will kick off a few days earlier than planned.
Square Enix have confirmed the release date for the remastered Final Fantasy VIII as September 3. The listing has not appeared in the eShop as of yet, but other system stores have a price of US$19.99/C$26.99.
The remastered FFVIII was announced as a part of Square's E3 presentation.

The Witcher III: Complete Edition will release on Switch October 15. The announcement was made at the opening ceremony of the Gamescom show in Cologne, Germany.

Ahead of Gamescom, it has been confirmed that Streets of Rage 4 will release on Switch. There isn't a timetable for the game's release.
A new character will join the fight: Cherry Hunter, the daughter of Adam from the original trilogy and a guitar-playing brawler.

One of gaming's best-looking and worst-kept secrets.
Following Cuphead's Switch release earlier this year, another Microsoft published independent smash is head to Switch next month.
Ori and the Blind Forest, Moon Studio's 2015 exploration platformer that was previously an Xbox and Microsoft Store exclusive, is coming to the Switch on September 27. The game is published by Xbox Game Studios.

A unique hack and slasher will hit the Switch in a couple of weeks.
Creature in the Well, previously announced in this spring's Nindies Showcase, will hit full release on September 6. The Unreal Engine 4 game combines pinball and hack/slash elements into a unique adventure style.

Mighty Yell presents The Big Con, which is probably coming to Switch but isn't official yet.
The Big Con is the first game from Mighty Yell and pitches itself as a '90s-inspired comedy adventure where you play a high school girl trying to shake down the mall to save her mom's video store.
While not 100% confirmed for Switch, the team has access to a Switch dev kit, so it's very likely. Mighty Yell has experience on the Nindie side of things, with developers who have worked on everything from Runbow to Guacamelee 2.

Try and wrap your head around one of the items.
As part of the opening ceremonies for the 2019 World Pokémon Championships in Washington DC, some new information was revealed for Pokémon Sword and Shield.
A Battle Stadium will be available for multiplayer: ranked and casual battles will be available, as well as online competitions that can be hosted by players and the ability to use rental Pokémon. Nintendo Switch Online will be required for access to the Battle Stadium.

Although there was a pigskin in the room in the July schedule, Nintendo software dominated July once again for the NPD Group's US sales survey.

Seed Interactive stopped by the Talk Nintendo Podcast to give us all the details on their latest project.
Seed Interactive officially unveiled their second Switch title, StarBlox Inc., on the latest episode of the Talk Nintendo Podcast (episode 152). Blending a Tetris styled puzzler with a fighting game, it aims to capitalize on frantic local multiplayer fun. The developers, who also worked on Skies of Fury DX, plan to release the game sometime this fall.

A filing with the US Federal Communications Commission suggests that a first party Bluetooth-powered Super Nintendo controller may be coming for Switch soon.

A collection of Two Tribes' 2001-2019 catalog all in one boxed set.
Super Rare Games is at it again, switching things up with their next release. The previously announced Toki Tori 1 and 2+ puzzlers will now be packaged alongside the robot-hacking shooter Rive, as well as the original Toki Tori Game Boy Color Version, the recently released block-matching game Swap This! and a demo of an unreleased project "Three Tribes".
