Local Co-op Play Confirmed For Super Mario Odyssey Switch

You can be the man, or you can be the hat.

Super Mario Odyssey won't just have to be a solo adventure.

During a demo for the game today, a local co-op option was shown using two Joy-Cons. The second player controls Cappy, who can attack independently of Mario and also provide a platform for extremely long jumps.

Other control methods for the co-op were not discussed.

In fact, Nintendo is wasting no time getting back on the big release train with ARMS releasing tomorrow. Miitopia Demo Coming Today 3DS

A demo of Miitopia will be hitting the North American eShop later today. This demo features the beginning of the game and progress players make can be transferred over to the final version when it releases.

Miyamoto: Pikmin 4 Is 'Progressing' Switch

Shigeru Miyamoto confirms Pikmin's fourth instalment is in still in development.

Pikmin 4, which was absent at this years E3, is "progressing", legendary Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto said.

In an interview with Eurogamer's Tom Phillips, Miyamoto says that the Pikmin 4 project is still in development, though he couldn't say much more at the moment.

"I've been told not to share anything about this from PR," Miyamoto told him, "but I can tell you it is progressing."

The European special edition of Metroid: Samus Returns is going all out.

According to Nintendo's UK site, a special edition will be available for the game that includes a steelbook, a gold "S" pin, an artbook, a soundtrack selection CD, a Morph Ball-styled keyring and a download code for Metroid II: Return of Samus on 3DS.

Lego Worlds Hitting Switch Fall 2017, Physical Version Includes Bonus DLC Switch

A remake of a GBA classic

Nintendo announced a remake of the GBA game "Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga" for the Nintendo 3DS during their Treehouse Live 2017 E3 stream, alongside a brand new trailer.

This new game features updated graphics and a brand new mode, "Bowser's Minions". This mode features a brand new additional story that happens parallel alongside the events of Superstar Saga, with a focus on what happened to all of Bowser's scattered minions.

Press Kit Assets give a peek into some future synergy. UPDATE: They're already available!

Super Mario Run came out in December last year, but future updates will add content to the game to match this year's upcoming Super Mario Odyssey. This wasn't announced directly via Nintendo's E3 Spotlight presentation, but official assets show Nintendo's plans to add new statues in the game featuring "captured" enemies from the game controlled by Mario's "Cappy" sidekick hat-character.
