The developer of Rune Factory closes its doors after 20 years.
Game developer Neverland Company has announced a
cease of operations via its official website and has begun the process
of filing for bankruptcy.
Neverland explained that the shutdown is due to new changes and sluggish performance in the
business environment in recent years. Attempts to raise funds have been
unsuccessful, leaving the company no choice but to close its doors after
20 years of operation.

Finally some Wii U love!
New downloadable content for Batman: Arkham Origins was announced today by Warner Bros. Interactive and will be available for all systems, including the Wii U. The three packs offered are the Infinite Earth Skins Pack, Black Mask Challenge Pack, and Online Supply Drop #1, although the Supply Drop pack will not be available on the Wii U.

A recent Twitter post from the current lead Tekken designer has let slip that Nintendo could be working on a brand new IP.
Katsuhiro Harada was asked by a fan what Masamichi Abe, an old colleague of his, is up to these days. According to Harada, Abe is working on "some Nintendo original title."

Super Mario 3D World has the lowest first week sales of any 3D Mario game.
Super Mario 3D World debuted second in Japanese sales charts with 99,588 units sold.
Bested by Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 14, which managed to sell over 250k copies, Super Mario 3D World's sales were quite low compared to other Mario games. Its sales placed it as the lowest debut of any 3D Mario game in Japan, below Super Mario 64 DS. In comparison, the best debut was Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii with over 330k games purchased.

LEGO The Hobbit is coming to the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
This new LEGO title will be based off the first two Hobbit movies; The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. They are of course based off of the J.R.R. Tolkien book The Hobbit. Like other LEGO games it will feature many playable characters from the series including Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey and all of the dwarves.

Three posters for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds are now available on Club Nintendo for 500 coins and feature new artwork for the game.
The prints depict the game package’s artwork, living paintings of characters, and Link looking over Hyrule and Lorule’s vistas. Each poster has the dimensions of 22” by 28” and will ship in a poster tube.

Nintendo has released a new Wii U firmware update for the Wii U, bringing the version number for the system up to 4.0.2.
The update is only a small one, adding further improvements to the overall system stability and some other minor changes that will enhance the user experience.

Looks like the sales numbers mega evolved!
Nintendo Australia has revealed that the first weekend sales for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y exceeded 100,000 units combined.
The titles have beaten all previous records for Nintendo games sold in Australia and New Zealand. For reference, Pokémon Black and White sold through 80,000 units in their first full week, X and Y beat this on the first day.

The DLC item doesn't escape this side of the world.
The European version of Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies features the previously mentioned SP Drink. We can confirm this after toying around with our copy today.
The SP Drink will allow players to instantly regain points so that you can more freely attack and use the Bravely Second feature. With Bravely Second, you can attack at any given moment which gives you an edge over the competition.

A new Super Mario Galaxy stage is coming to the next Super Smash Bros. for Wii U when it comes out in 2014.
