Eiji Aonuma, producer and director of the Zelda series, has revealed new details about the upcoming A Link To The Past sequel for the Nintendo 3DS, noting that he believes it may be the most inventive entry yet.

In an interview with CNET, Aonuma said that this installment of The Legend of Zelda series is a drastic departure from its predecessors. "It certainly feels different from our point of view," he told CNET.

Nintendo is already at it with a special sale for Kirby Super Star.

A special Wii U Virtual Console "Start-Up Campaign" began today in Japan, giving gamers 20% off of Kirby Super Deluxe (Kirby Super Star).

To take part in the sale, gamers will first need to purchase the current Famicom 30th Anniversary promotional title, Kirby’s Adventure for 30 yen. After the purchase, the price for Kirby’s Super Star is knocked down from 800 yen to 640 yen.

Nintendo will host two events at E3 2013, a partner presentation in the Nokia Theater and a media event on the show floor before it opens, instead of their traditional E3 press conference on the Tuesday morning before the show kicks off. The latest 3DS life simulator is already doing pretty well for itself after only a few days on store shelves.

Tomodachi Collection: Shin Seikatsu (Friend Collection: New Life) for Nintendo 3DS sold 405,000 physical copies in just four days of being on the market. The sales numbers do not reflect digital sales.

Internally developed by Nintendo, Tomodachi Collection has players' Mii characters perform everyday tasks, make friends, get married, and just live another life.

Couple the maintenance in with the rumor mill, and your Wii U might be quicker by the end of the day.

With extended maintenance being done on the Wii U and its eShop between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. PT (8 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET), it is very likely that the Wii U's inaugural system update will debut sometime after that, which falls in line with the Thursday launch for the eShop we reported earlier in the week.

Alongside the free app on Wii U, Ubisoft confirmed a September release date for the delayed game.
