Rev your engines, 3DS owners!
A new Nintendo Direct focusing on Nintendo 3DS will be broadcasted this Wednesday, April 17 at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET, as announced by Nintendo of America. UPDATE: The Nintendo 3DS Direct was also confirmed for Europe, too, at 3 p.m. GMT, which is the same time as the North American one.
Though no specifics were revealed, it has been stated that the showing is "focused on the latest information on Nintendo 3DS."

The popular mobile game is creating ties with Nintendo's 3D handheld.

Ever wanted to create and edit music on your 3DS? Well, now you can.
KORG M01D, an advanced music creation program based on the KORG M1, has been announced exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
The software is described by publisher Detune as a "music workstation", in which users can produce their own music with a synthesiser featuring over 300 sounds and an 8-track sequencer, as well as a swathe of editing tools like including a mixer and sound browser.

Nintendo's handheld may be getting some randomly generated platforming goodness.
Cloudberry Kingdom, the brutal platformer from Pwnee Studios, may see a 3DS release. The game, which was funded through Kickstarter, was originally announced to be coming to Wii U and Steam for the PC. With UbiSoft's assistance, it will now also see release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Mac and PlayStation Vita this summer.

Australians get shafted even further, but can still get access if they want.
Bit.Trip Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien has now been released on the European eShop, although it is nowhere to be seen on the Australian one.
The game was originally delayed across Europe and Australia due to classification holdups. The European rating system has obviously passed the game, but according to the developer Gaijin Games, the Australian release has been held up even longer due to rating board issues.

After six and a half years, news, weather, contests, and opinion polls will be no more.
Five channels and a number of online features on the Wii will be discontinued in June, Nintendo announced today.
The Nintendo Channel, Forecast Channel, News Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, and Check Mii Out Channel (known as the Mii Contest Channel in Europe) are all to be taken offline on this date, and will be inaccessible if a user tries to access them from the Wii menu.

Get ready for some crazy platforming action when Cloudberry Kingdom arrives as a downloadable title on the Wii U eShop this summer.
Ubisoft announced today that it will be publishing Cloudberry Kingdom for release on Wii U later this summer. In the platformer, players will encounter procedurally generated levels, which can scale their level of difficulty based on a person's skill.

The update for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U that enables Off-TV and cross-region play is due to arrive April 16.
Off-TV Play allows the game to be played on the GamePad alone, without the TV. Cross-region online multiplayer lets Europeans play online with North Americans and vice-versa.

Disney will release games based on their upcoming animated film Planes exclusively for the Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and DS.
Scheduled to release on August 6, the titles allow players to experience a "flying adventure" as they take control of one of the film's characters. There is currently no confirmation on the developer of these games.

GameFly says so, and they have been right before.
GameFly lists Game & Wario's release date as June 30.
Though not confirmed, GameFly has been right about Nintendo release dates before, most recently being Mario Tennis Open. June 30 is a Sunday, which is when Nintendo typically releases games. However, it is also the last day of the quarter, meaning it's a good placeholder date, too.
