Infogrames Nabs Ah-nold GC

The gigantic European-based publisher has acquired the rights to make games for the first two Terminator movies.

Infogrames announced today that it now has the Terminator I & II license, and there are currently four games underway based on the two films. The first one is being developed internally at Infogrames and is due in spring 2002.

Koei to have GameCube launch title(s) GC

The company behind Kessen and Romance of the Three Kingdoms will be supporting all three systems within this fiscal year.

According to GameSpot, Koei announced today during the Bloomberg Forum that it would have GameCube and Xbox games released before the end of this fiscal year (March 2002). Apparently they do intend to have at least one game ready for each system's launch as well. No word on what games we'll see for GameCube, but Koei has previously commented that they were working on some GC titles geared towards younger players.

Tactics Ogre Gaiden rules Japanese sales GBA

The turn-based strategy game for GBA is finally released in Japan, to rave reviews and excellent sales.

According to The Magic Box, the Nintendo-published Tactics Ogre Gaiden: The Knight of Lodis ruled Japanese software sales this week, debuting at #1 with over 150,000 units sold. In addition, legendary gaming mag Weekly Famitsu gave the game a score of 34 (9,8,9,8), making it the highest-rated GBA... Read more...

Sammo Hung’s Soul Calibur? GC

Martial arts film star Samo Hung is apparently quite interested in directing the Soul Calibur movie. (What is it with all these game movies lately?)

Thanks to a PGC reader, we were pointed to a section on Sammo Hung’s official website which has some interesting revelations. For those of you not familiar with Sammo Hung, he is a tremendous martial arts star and director. He is good friends with Jackie Chan, has been in over 160 films and a show for CBS, Martial Law.

Planet GameCube has urged its readers to check out Broken Saints many times, for many reasons. We Instead of repeating ourselves, we’ll just re-iterate you give it your time & provide one more reason to tune in.

We first saw Marionette for GameCube listed on an NOA pre-E3 press release. Along with several other equally enigmatic titles like Perfect Dark Zero and Mario Sunshine, it was present only on that list and with no additional info given. Nintendorks on Vacation

Our friends the Nintendorks are on sabbatical, but they'll be back!...We hope.

According to the Nintendorks backup site, the zany creators of Mr. Face and All Twelve Flavors of Ass are taking a break for now. They've had numerous financial and server troubles for the past few months, and the guys just decided to ease off and relax while the site's problems work themselves out. Pink GBA comes today! GBA

If you missed the initial shipment of Game Boy Advances, you might be tickled pink with this news!

Nintendo's fourth color of Game Boy Advance, Fuchsia has just hit U.S. retailers. The infamous "Milky Pink" model is similar to the Glacier in that the plastic is somewhat see-thru, but this one is pink instead of blue. Fuchsia retails for $99.99, though be sure to shop around!

Who is Developing Disney Sports? GC

We reported translated news of Disney Sports coming to GameCube from EA. Electronic Arts doesn't know anything about it, which begs the question...

Following our report on the “Disney sports” title, Computer & Videogames got in touch directly with EA Europe. "We’ve heard absolutely nothing to that effect," a spokesperson told C&VG.

C&VG goes on to say that currently the only confirmed Gamecube Disney game is the joint Capcom and Nintendo Mickey Mouse project shown for the first time at E3.

Calling all Ninja Gaiden Fans!

Big news folks! Tecmo’s official website has just posted a poll asking what console people would most like to see Ninja Gaiden on! ROCK THAT VOTE!!!

The other day, we posted about the possibility of Ninja Gaiden coming to GameCube. Originally, the game was announced for Playstation 2 but now Tecmo is apparently undecided as to which system it should bring the game to. This is now evidenced by a poll that has appeared on Tecmo’s website, asking readers to vote on which video game console they would like to see the new Ninja Gaiden appear on.

The arcade in Southland Mall in Hayward, California just received a beta version of [Capcom vs SNK 2] and [Virtua Fighter 4]! FF going multi-console!!! GC

Reports have said yes and no to this. Now we have confirmation straight from Squaresoft!

Final Fantasy XI is regarded as the next big thing in online gaming to many people. Previous reports have either claimed that it will be exclusive to PS2 and PCs (like VII and VIII,) or it might be coming to another console as well. Now, thanks to Game Spot, we have confirmation that Square "will release it across other consoles in the future" straight from the creator of the FF Series, Hironobu Sakaguchi.
