E3 tries to steal some spotlight away from Space World with an interesting schedule announcement.
According to FGNOnline, the Interactive Digitial Software Association, or IDSA, has decided to change the dates for E3 2002. It will now run from May 22nd through 24th, which happens to be Wednesday through Friday (instead of the usual Thursday through Saturday). It's being done because the following weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Here's an explanation from IDSA-guy Doug Lowenstein:
"This will make the show more convenient for attendees who want to enjoy the long weekend and more cost effective for exhibitors who will not incur premium labor rates."
On a related note, this probably means that Nintendo's traditional pre-E3 press conference will take place on Tuesday, May 21st.
