Mario Kart Advance Tournament GBA

Noting the game title I used means that it's in Japan. BOO! Well, the winners get to compete in the finals at Space World!

After the release of Mario Kart Advance (Mario Kart Super Circuit here in the states) on July 21 in Japan, there's going to be a tourney to see who's the best of the best!

This tournament begins on July 22, and is taking place in 4 different parts of Japan. The winners of the qualifying rounds get to compete in the finals at Space World 2001!

We all know about Virtua Striker and Super Monkey Ball, but the guys at Amusement Vision have a 3rd GameCube game planned as well.

Sega's Amusement Vision is supporting the GameCube like mad. They've only made 2 Dreamcast games and they are already working on a third GameCube title. Already announced have been Super Monkey Ball and Virtua Striker. Now, the word is that Amusement Vision is working on a third GameCube game.

Luigi's Mansion already popping up in Japanese advertisments? Oh do tell!

The fine folks at Core Magazine have posted a scan of a new advertisement featuring one of your favorite plumbers.

The advertisement is actually promoting two things...Luigi's Mansion, and NEC's computer graphics workstation, interestingly dubbed the "Nintendo Express". These were the computers that were used in the development of Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube.

Japanese GC Hardware Prices!!!!!! GC

Nintendo has announced prices for all kinds of GameCube peripherals, including controllers, memory cards, and hookup cables. DigiCards for ten bucks, OH MY GOD!

Thanks to a fantastic tip from reader Ethan Pearson, we now know the prices (in yen) of several GameCube peripherals. Nintendo Company Ltd.'s website now has the following information (as translated by Excite, with yen-to-dollar conversions by XE.com):

The GameCube controller will cost 2,500 yen, which is about $20 in U.S. currency. One will be included with the system.

Sakaguchi is Positive about Nintendo GC

The creator of Final Fantasy is interested in Nintendo and says FFXI needs to be on ALL consoles.

In Thursday's edition of the LA Times, an interview with Final Fantasy guru Hironobu Sakaguchi reveals some interesting things about Square and Nintendo.

Q: The first "Final Fantasy" game came out on the Nintendo platform. In 1996, the games migrated to the Sony PlayStation console. Do you plan to make games for the Nintendo Gamecube or Microsoft's Xbox?

Hey there anime fans! The GIA has reported that AD Vision have obtained the North American

distribution rights to the Zone of Enders anime and TV series. The upcoming game for GBA, Z.O.E. 2173 Testament is supposedly based of the anime. No release date has been set for either series.

First Animal Leader Screen Shots! GC

Not that these will blow you away or anything graphically...but that's the way it's supposed to be! Honest!

IGNCube has gotten a hold of the first two screens of Dobutsu Bancho, or Animal Leader. I got a chance to play this game at Space World last year, and enjoyed it's simplicity. It is a very Japanese-esqe title...but cool as hell. Check out the screens by clicking here or here.

In a theater near Kyoto

GameCube is getting pimped in theaters in Japan! Hopefully before Tomb Raider! Early enough so the people are still awake!

According to Famitsu, Japanese theaters are showing quick trailers of GameCube footage....

Overseas magazine Famitsu reports that Nintendo has begun hyping its next-generation GameCube console in Japanese movie theaters. Audiences attending showings of the latest Pokemon feature film are reportedly being treated to a brief preview of the GCN Super Smash Bros. Melee before the cartoon sequel begins.

Puyo Puyo Advance hitting Japan!

Sega's bringin' another PHAT puzzle game to the GBA. Release details inside...

According to EAGB, Sega is planning on releasing Puyo Puyo Advance in Japan on October 16th. The only detail that is known about the title are the fact that you only need one cartridge for full multiplayer! Word!

PGC is hoping more developers do this more often. More juice when it hits....
