The application will offer 2D and 3D videos using SpotPass from July 13.

The new Nintendo Video application will offer a range of 2D and 3D video content to users who download it from the eShop for Nintendo 3DS from Wednesday July 13 in Europe.

Featured content is set to include comedies, cartoons, and music videos. These videos will be downloaded automatically through SpotPass when you are close to a wireless Internet connection, such as the free Wi-Fi hotspots available to 3DS users through Nintendo's partner service providers.

Full 3D episodes of Oscar's Oasis, a television cartoon, will be one of the first available shows. 3D Magic Tricks from studio D4D and episodes of Angelo, a cartoon based on French books, are also set to appear on the service.

Video content may vary by country. 3D video shorts starring Shaun the Sheep were announced earlier this year along with videos from Sky UK's 3D channel.

NoE stepping up its abysmal eShop showing.

I feel like the whole 3D craze is a lot stronger in Europe at least when it comes to home viewing. If they were to do this in America i cant even think of the content that would be provided. Movie trailers? Game trailers? Video demos? Doesn't seem like something that might take off over here.

NoA has gone on record stating they are putting a good amount of time and money on the 3DS show offerings.  Though they are also the only ones not saying anything now >

I think you're referring to Netflix coming this summer?  Summer's half over...still waiting.

I bet that Netflix got canceled for NOA, but NOE will get it and Hulu and Youtube, and princess peach gives blow jobs to club nintendo platinum members and wario just rapes Americans as he laughs about how much money he has made from USA.

(I know we will NEVER see it happen because it'd kick major ass), what Nintendo of America, (also in the other countries as well), should do is make little shows made SPECIFICALLY for the 3DS, (even if they're only 5 minute segments), of adventures with Mario, Donkey Kong, and/or other Nintendo characters to download. Even if the charged for them I have no doubt they'd do very well.

A running animated advertisement.  Could be fun.  Iwata ask using pre-modeled CGI so they just have to move, light, and voice them.
