Don't let this silly headline confuse you, NEC isn't teaming up with "I Can't Believe it's not Butter" spokesmodel.
No, but they are building a new fabrication facility to build the graphics chips and the high speed DRAM for the Dolphin. In the article EE Times they just use the word Fab quite a bit. :) Here's the beef....
TOKYO — NEC Corp. will construct a new fabrication facility to build a graphic chip and the embedded DRAM that Nintendo Co. Ltd. will use in its next-generation game console, code-named Dolphin.

Some information on the 64DD's network. Could it be a testing ground for what Nintendo is planning with Dolphin?
In Japan, Nintendo is planning to launch an online community with the ill-fated N64 add-on the 64DD. Their ambitions are high for this network and if it is a success we may see a similar approach to the Dolphin's network capabilities. Thanks to Core Magazine for the story.

An IGN64 poll shows that most Nintendo-fans want their Dolphins to have DVD playback included...
No kidding?! :) Personally I would like DVD movie playback on the Dolphin. I don't have a DVD player yet, and wouldn't mind having it be a part of my next Nintendo purchase. Hell if square develops games we're going to end up watching movies anyway ;) IGN64 did a little poll, and the people have spoken....

Miyamoto mentions that 64DD's writability aspect may be included in the Dolphin, even though DVD is being used.
Well, it appears Miyamoto just won't give up on the writability
thing. Nintendo is showing interest in DVD Ram. And of course they are.... They've been looking into things that could be written since the 64DD. This should be good news though. And if Nintendo delays the Dolphin, which I now believe... Read more...

An artist from Famitsu has drawn up a conception sketch of the Game Boy Advance. Check it out!
If you haven't seen it yet, IGN Pocket put up an artist's from Famitsu's conception of the GBA, and it is one crazy looking hand held. Complete with a camera and microphone on top, the things looks really cool, but not very practical. When I showed this picture to my friend, he said the GBA is going to be the most fun he's ever had playing with himself. At which point I laughed at him and called him a liar.
