Fourth Professor Layton Game Trademarked in North America 3DSDS

Looks like we'll be seeing Professor Layton and the Last Specter at E3 2011.

Professor Layton and the Last Specter has been trademarked by Level-5 in North America, according to Siliconera.

The fourth Layton game is a prequel that tells the story of Layton and Luke's first meeting. Originally released in 2009 in Japan under the name Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute, it also features a lengthy post-game RPG developed by Mother 3 developers Brownie Brown.

Sega Officially Reveals Shinobi 3DS

Developed by Griptonite Games, Shinobi will also make use of StreetPass.

Shinobi is making his return on 3DS this September, Sega confirmed following a reveal on the cover of next month's Nintendo Power.

A prequel starring Jiro Musashi, the father of series star Joe Musashi, the game, simply titled Shinobi, will feature side-scrolling gameplay reminiscent of the original games. In addition, Shinobi will support StreetPass and offer a plethora of achievements and challenges.

Australia hops on the bonus bandwagon with the titular instrument.

Australian adventurers raring to snap up their copies of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, will have the option to grab a limited Ocarina Edition when they purchase from EB Games.

The special edition will come with a plastic ocarina featuring a Triforce logo and two song sheets, detailing how to play several Zelda songs, including Zelda's Lullaby.

Sonic Generations and New Shinobi Coming to 3DS 3DS

The blue hedgehog will be rolling through green hills on the 3DS and a Shinobi game is very likely on its way.

Update: The Nintendo Power article on Shinobi confirms that the new entry in the series is for 3DS.

Sonic Generations is definitely coming to 3DS, and a Shinobi revival is also on the way to a Nintendo system, the upcoming issue of Nintendo Power confirms.

Play For Japan Charity Album Details Revealed

Check out this album if you want to help out with the earthquake relief effort.

New details have been revealed regarding the Play For Japan charity album, including a full tracklist.

The album will feature a song from Nintendo composer Koji Kondo: Super Mario Medley on Two Pianos.  The album will also feature a song from legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Umeatsu titled "Every New Morning."

Questing puzzles and wacky science antics are the highlights of this week's update.

This week four new games are available for download; three for DSiWare and one for WiiWare.

The first DSiWare game is Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords from 1st Playable Productions. In the puzzle game, players must match gems and cast spells to defeat an assortment of dastardly creatures. There are over 150 quests to complete and online multiplayer. The title can be downloaded for 800 DSi Points ($8).

Wii Price Drop and Mario Kart Wii Bundle Launching in Australia Wii

Wii Sports is out and Mario Kart is in.

Starting June 2 2011, the Wii in Australia and New Zealand will be receiving a price drop and will include a copy of Mario Kart Wii.

The new prices for the system in Australia and New Zealand will be AU $199.95 and NZ 282.87.

Wii Sports will no longer be included with the Wii console, and will now be sold separately for AU $29.95 and NZ 42.34.

Street Fighters in Melbourne and Sydney are invited to join the fray, win some swag.

Next weekend, Nintendo Australia is going to hold a Super Street Fighter IV tournament in Melbourne and Sydney, respectively. Players can compete in various Street Fighter-related events, such as a battle tournament, a StreetPass Figurine Battle, and a trivia contest, with different prizes handed out for each.

Sega Removes Listing for Sonic Generations 3DS 3DS

Sega updated their recent financial statement and removed the mention of Sonic Generations for 3DS.

Sonic Generations’ future on the 3DS is now in doubt after Sega Sammy issued a revised earnings report.

A 3DS version of Sonic Generations was listed in the original earnings report, but no longer appears in the updated document. Sega had also listed the game as heading to the PC, but that has also been erased.

Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version has been delayed according to a report by Famitsu magazine.

Originally set to be a launch title for Nintendo's eShop, the game has been delayed in order to improve its quality. No new date has been announced, and Capcom USA has yet to comment on the latest developments.

Players will be able to play as their favorite Disney characters in this crossover game for Wii.

A listing on Amazon has revealed a new Disney game called Disney Universe.

Based on the information given out, it will be a crossover adventure game where players can take on the role of various Disney characters, both contemporary and classic. Some of these include TRON, Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

Sonic Generations for 3DS Revealed 3DS

Sega revealed the previously unknown version of the upcoming Sonic adventure in their financial announcement. 

Sonic Generations is apparently headed to the 3DS. The upcoming 2D/3D platformer was listed in Sega Sammy's earnings report.

The game, which had previously only been announced for the Xbox 360 and PS3, unites the "classic" 2D Sonic gameplay with the "modern" 3D platformer. Generations features levels playable in both 2D and 3D modes and is a major part of Sega's commemoration of Sonic's 20th Anniversary.

FIFA 12 3DS Only Features Local Multiplayer

Despite previous reports, FIFA's 3DS debut won't have online.

FIFA 12 on 3DS will only have local multiplayer, contrary to the game's announcement press release, which said it would have "head-to-head online matches using Nintendo Wi-Fi connection."

Producer Matt Prior said in a forthcoming Nintendo World Report interview that "Currently, we only have local head-to-head play, but server-based online is certainly something we would be looking at in the future."

New Kirby DS Title Dated for Japan DS

Kirby's DS swan song will be out in Japan in July. 

Atsumete! Kirby (literally "Gather! Kirby") is coming out on July 7 in Japan, according to a recent issue of Coro Coro Comics.

The hook of the HAL Laboratory-developed game is that you use the stylus to control up to 10 little Kirbys.

So far, there hasn't been any mention of an overseas release of Atsumete! Kirby.
