Link has to go on trials to forge the Master Sword, and can find secrets by dowsing the environment.
Link will enter a new dimension in Skyward Sword, called the Siren Realm, where he will go through trials to forge the Master Sword, according to Nintendo's Eiji Aonuma at the E3 2011 developer presentation.

The Mario Strikers and Punch-Out devs are making Luigi's latest.
Next Level Games is making Luigi's Mansion 2 on 3DS, which is set for an early 2012 release.
Shigeru Miyamoto revealed the game's developer at the E3 2011 developer presentation. Development began with a test that Next Level did that was well loved by everyone at Nintendo. The Canadian-based company that worked on Punch-Out for Wii, and the two Mario Strikers games on GameCube and Wii.

In honor of Zelda's 25th anniversary, Mario pays homage.
A level designed to look like a 2D Zelda dungeon was shown at the E3 2011 developer presentation.
Done for the Zelda 25th anniversary, the level features a lot of Zelda references, including the very look of the level and the puzzles, one of which involves using the Fire Flower to light torches.

The upcoming Mario Kart game will feature input from Retro Studios.
At Nintendo's Roundtable Meeting today, it was revealed that the upcoming Mario Kart 3DS will feature input from Retro Studios, in regards to various track designs.
Mario Kart 3DS arrives in North America later this year.

Left-handed folks might not be too screwed.
Kid Icarus: Uprising might feature a left-handed mode, according to an anonymous Nintendo representative.
Currently, the game is tough for lefties to play, as you have to hold the stylus in your right hand, since the Circle Pad is only on the left side of the system. Kid Icarus requires the use of the Circle Pad for analog control.

Company has a long relationship with the franchise.
Star Fox 64 3D is a joint venture between Q-Games and Nintendo, as revealed by the game's copyright notice.
The arrangement is likely similar to Ocarina of Time 3D's co-development with Grezzo, as both games feature enhanced graphics and additions, such as gyroscopic gameplay.
Q-Games developed the previous Star Fox game, Star Fox Command for DS. Additionally, members of the company worked on the original Star Fox for SNES.

Cube controllers and software will not work with Nintendo's new system.
The GameCube will not be compatible with the Wii U, Nintendo's new system to be released in 2012, according to Nintendo of America Director of Public Relations Marc Franklin.

Kirby and Layton join this year's remaining DS games.
There are a few surprises in the Nintendo DS games list. As with the Wii list from earlier, it is a partial listing with dates and titles subject to change. Even so, Kirby Mass Attack has straight away been assigned a release date of September 19, while Nintendo look to be publishing Level 5's fourth Layton game, the final one for DS.

In addition to Assassin's Creed, Rabbids, and Ghost Recon Online, Ubisoft is working on a family sports title and an original FPS.
Ubisoft has revealed five projects they've got in the works for Nintendo's just-announced Wii U console, three from established IP and two new original titles as well.
One of the new Wii U titles will be a "multi-sports game for the whole family", and reports label the second as a first-person shooter aimed at hardcore audiences.

Two 3DS games and one Wii game are added to the release schedule.
Later this year, Namco Bandai will publish Ace Combat 3D and Pac-Man Party 3D for the Nintendo 3DS, and Go Vacation for Wii.
The Ace Combat series' 3DS debut will add touch screen controls to all the excitement of flying, dogfights, and acrobatics missions. Pac-Man Party 3D will utilise the system's buttons, touchscreen, microphone, accelerometer, and Download Play features to create a multiplayer mini-game experience.

This Mario Paint-like download title allows you to make your own character.
Nintendo announced today an original eShop title called Picture Lives! It is an interesting art application from Asobism Co. Ltd. that lets players create characters using shapes and colors before they come to life with animations and sounds. It will be available exclusively on the eShop.

IBM reveals the custom Wii U multi-core processors are based on their Power Architecture technology.
A recent press release reveals that IBM will be manufacturing the new processor for Nintendo's Wii U console based on the computer company's Power Architecture technology. IBM also mentions that their embedded DRAM and Silicon insulator technologies will also feature in the 45nm processor's design.

Dual screen platformer arriving in early 2012.
Fractured Soul, an action platformer that makes unique use of the dual screens of Nintendo's handhelds, is coming to Nintendo 3DS in early 2012 from UTV Ignition.
Originally a DS title, the game had been confirmed to be coming to North America on the older platform this fall through Graffiti Entertainment. The DS game no longer appears on their company web site.

Layton's fourth adventure is slated for an English translation.
As appearing in the list of E3 games, Professor Layton and the Last Specter is set to be released in the forseeable future.
No word on an exact release date so far, but a logo has been released alongside some screenshots and a video trailer. We can only hope that this brings the fifth title for the Nintendo 3DS closer to the localization process.

A western-styled eShop game is on its way.
A new download game for the Nintendo 3DS eShop has been announced, called The Rolling Western. The game has a an old west inspired visual style.

The yarnless version of Kirby will be released outside of Japan too.
The next Kirby game for Wii takes him back to Dream Land. Previously announced for Japan, the game is now confirmed for a North American release, though the game title is tentative.
The game features cooperative mode for up to four players working as a team to collect Point Stars and Ability Stars. Players can drop in and out of the game at any time.

Mario parties for the ninth time on Wii.
Mario and his friends will be having one more party on the Wii. This was announced following Nintendo's E3 press conference.

Luigi's back to paranormal activity on the 3DS.
Nintendo announced a 3DS sequel to the acclaimed GameCube launch title, showing Luigi doing battle with more ghouls and spectres than ever before.
Luigi's Mansion 2 was stressed as being not a remake or a port, but an entirely new game.
Containing not one, but several new mansions to explore, this game looks to be both graphically impressive and chock-full of content.
