Wii titles are most likely to be playable on consoles worldwide, Nintendo's own included.
Games writer, friend to PGC and heavy drinker Chris Kohler is reporting on his Wired Games Blog that the Wii console, like the Nintendo DS, will be able to play games from any region of the world.
The report implies that region protection can still be put in place by publishers if they so desire, but Nintendo's own games won't be locked to a specific country.

Sixteen games are going to be along side the console in Japan on December 12, with ten more coming before the end of the month.
From what we can gather from this list on NCL's webpage, here's the list of titles Wii slated for launch day in Japan:

The news on US price, date, and more has already hit the papers.
Seattle Post-Intelligencer has already posted details from The New York Times regarding the Wii announcement to be made later today.
Wii is set to launch in North and South America on November 19th, at a price of $250. By year end, twenty-five to thirty games are slated to be released, and Nintendo plans to ship 4 million consoles worldwide.

Seven of them are listed with ratings on the ESRB site, so it seems likely.
The ESRB's website has been updated with ratings for a few Wii games, mostly from publishers like Ubisoft and Midway. Most interesting among the list was a group of seven games published by Sega that are (for the moment) Wii-exclusive titles.

Lines form, shops sell out...is there any stopping the dual-screen juggernaut?
With every iteration of Nintendo DS hardware that is released, people form lines and buy up all of the initial launch supply. The handheld is selling fast enough without there being a new color available, but it seems that Nintendo wants everyone in Japan to own (at least) one DS or DS Lite.

If lead designer Kazuma Kaneko has anything to say about it, there's a good possibility.
Without a doubt, the Shin Megami Tensei series is one of the strangest RPG franchises out there, where it's not uncommon at all for occult and demonic manifestations to show up for a cup of tea. And while it's been featured primarily on the PS2 lately, that doesn't mean that Wii gamers will be out of luck if they're looking to get their weird on.
