Just in case: My friend was having an error every time he tried connecting to WiFi... he had it set up to where it only accepted G-band signals...make sure your router accepts both G and B. He switched it and it worked like a charm.

This game shreds. Even though I only played him so far, there was NO lag whatsoever.

I keep getting the Error message 5200 "Unable to obtain an IP address. Move within range of the acces point or check DHCP settings. And I have no idea how to fix this.

The best way to fix that is to manually set the IP address on your ds, rather then have it pick it's own.  Usually it will look something like 192.168.1.x, where x is the number you make up for your ds.  Just look in the manual that came with the router, or do a google search, and I'm sure you'll find more.

Seriously, I'm very very impressed.  I haven't touched single player yet, just local and online multiplayer, and I am just in awe that this is a DS game and not GameCube.  60 FPS online play was a priority for nintendo, and I'm glad it was.  Just need to speed up the matchmaking a bit, and it will be nearly perfect.

I guess I won't be joining you all as soon as I thought. The top screen of my DS just stopped working, so it's on its way to be fixed by Nintendo Australia.....

Thanks alot MATT. I have played online and I love it!!! Four people or one, its nice to know that person is real. But everytime I get to the 3rd or 4th race my DS freezes up. Anyone else get this problem?

Ok, I have a question for everyone....I get the error 20100, when trying to connect to my college's wireless access.  The connection is strong and says its ready but when I test it, it doesn't work.  I have looked at nintendowifi.com and it says that if I need a browser that I can't use it to get online.  Anyways, what I'm wondering is if there is any way to get around this and being able to go online, like if I register with the network, should this be able to work?

Universities tend to block like every port of access with their pointless little firewalls that tend to keep everything out except viruses, so who knows...I'll be testing the connection here at my college early next week...

Most wireless networks on colleges require you to authorize your computer through a website that is the first thing you see when you get on it.  Because the DS has no way of browsing to these site, your DS's MAC address will never be authorized, making it impossible to get it on unless you have a friend in the IT department.

This is one of the reasons that a browser could really help the DS out.  MAC addresses are constant so if you authorize the unit with the browser software, it will be authorized for games as well.

I picked up MK today.  Unfortunately, I won't be able to go online until next week because I had to order a new router.  I just thought everyone would like to know.

You could buy the usb adaptor.

So, has anyone, uh, played any single player? Because it's pretty good.

My WiFi connection seems very shaky.  I can get on about every other try, and it disconnects a lot when searching for opponents, almost every time.  I then get an error number, and when I go to nintendowifi.com it says that no troubleshooting content can be found.

I've connected to a game succesfully twice, the first time I lasted all four races, the second time I only lasted two before getting kicked.

So yeah, there's my story.

Does anyone have the Dongle yet? Just interested in hearing if the experience with that is completely smooth, I haven't heard any complaints about it but maybe because nobody has it yet.

I am wondering, how long do you think you'll be playing MK online for? Will it end anytime soon?

Because I guess by the time I get my DS back you'll think it's pretty old and lame and I'll have nobody to play with......

When are you getting it back? I'll be playing this online for years.

By the way 150cc is DAMN FAST! It's pretty challenging too, I breezed through Double Dash, but this is posing quite a challenge, and getting 3 stars for everything is going to be almost impossible. Battle Mode is also amazing with 8 players, and i've only played with bots! I haven't even tried the new Battle Mode yet, and i've just scratched the surface of the missions!

I love this game so much! I've been playing it so much that i've had to charge my DS 3 times in 2 days! Can't wait to play with my Dongle next week.
