General Gaming / XENOSAGA: World's Largest Game = 8.5 gigabytes
« on: March 06, 2003, 02:42:46 PM »
I've had a similar experience, so I've learned.  It's practically made me a Nintendo exclusive, though I'll get other games on occassion.

Nintendo Gaming / Super Mario RPG 3, Any Chances??

It seems very likely, though possibly not for Gamecube.  Or perhaps it's one of those surprise games.

Nintendo Gaming / Next Starfox Game Discussion
« on: March 06, 2003, 02:38:22 PM »
I very highly doubt that you will control more than one ship.  Due to the nature of starfox (flight sim/shooter) and the plot (they're mercenaries, not part of an army).  There are rumors of co-op and multiplayer modes, but a strategy game is painfully unlikely.

Nintendo Gaming / japanese metroid prime numbers
« on: March 06, 2003, 02:33:06 PM »
Japanese people like weird games. . . Metroid Prime doesn't appeal to them like it does American gamers, plus it's American made, which they seem somewhat reluctant to get (look at Xbox figures).

It's not the size, it's what you do with what you've got.

Means nothing (not to say that the game isn't good, but figures don't impress me).  Space Invaders and Mario are awesome games, yet you could fit them on a cell phone.  Quality, not quantity.

General Gaming / The new and improved X-box, X-box Light?
« on: March 05, 2003, 11:16:34 AM »
And Gamecube is just plain cool.

I like when people actually care about their products.  Nintendo cares dearly (constant improvements and additions, better GBA), but it's nice to see Microsoft giving a poo.  Sony has just gone down in my opinion, as they don't seem to be making any unnecessary improvements (as in improvements that would not lower costs if they were left out.  Nintendo has all sorts, like GBA connectivity).

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime in Progressive Scan.....wow!

The graphics are impossibly dark on my television, and I doubt my TV is compatible. . . ah, well.  I'll live with wonderful gameplay.

Nintendo Gaming / Pre-E3 list, (not confirming list)
« on: March 05, 2003, 11:01:53 AM »
Argh!  Too. . . many. . . good games. . .

My friend and I are definitely going to have to work out a borrow/buy strategy to save money.  As for me, I'm definitely getting Zelda, Metroid Prime 2, maybe Mario kart/kirby's airland, maybe Mario 128, and Star Fox Armada.  And Killer 7.  Oy.

Kirby's nightmare thing for cube?  Great!

It will hopefully/possibly have a multiplayer mode and be two player co-op.  Those are my opinions.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised.  Microsoft is probably not the most trustworthy of organizations, and though I know little about Sony, it certainly has money to dedicate to Nintendo's downfall.  If so, Nintendo is still holding up, and well.

Nintendo Gaming / Surprise new Nintendo game in March?
« on: March 04, 2003, 07:18:49 AM »
Never heard of it.

The reason that they don't have Nintendo football is because some characters would be obviously more apt than others, and that it only appeals to Americans.  Golf and tennis are more international.  If anything, I see soccer coming next, if it hasn't already.

Nintendo Gaming / Does the rest of your family play the cube?
« on: March 04, 2003, 07:14:38 AM »
My mother and father play on occassion, but not near as much as they used to.  My sister (13) hasn't played in a while, but it's mainly due to my lack of multiplayer games.  Super Smash Bros has lost her interest.

As for outer family, my cousins recently got a Gamecube after seeing mine, and they and their Dad seem to play fairly often.  I'm not sure about my aunt, though.  My dad's side doesn't seem at all game oriented except one cousin that has at least a PS2, maybe more.

My grandmother despises them.  Actively.  She'll beat me to get off of it, and I don't even play that often.

If you go to Newgrounds.com there's an awesome flash animation called Super Mario Blitz.  It uses sprites and stuff in a music video to an old mario song.  Tis very cool.

Sly Cooper is a very fun platformer, and FFX looks okay, but I'm not a big RPG fan.

Nintendo Gaming / ps3/xbox to get crush by GC2?
« on: March 03, 2003, 04:22:37 PM »
I may be wrong, but SNES seemed to beat Genesis into the ground.  I didn't own either, but SNES was certainly the one to go down in time, and eventually that's all that matters.

But as for the new systems. . . I'd be happy if more people bought Nexus or whatever and were cleansed of the "kiddie system" illusion that pisses me off so much.  Anyone that calls GC kiddie should be tortured, burned+crucified, starved, and shot.  And they deserve a good slapping.  There are ample Teen/Mature games (more than you can afford, if nothing else, and better ones), and those that aren't teen or higher still appeal to all audiences, like Zelda and Mario.  That belief just annoys the poo out of me, and should be officially discredited.

But I hope Nexus/whatever it'll be does well.  I know I'll get one.

Good for them for improving it, but I'm still not going to buy it. . . I don't want 2 consoles.

Nintendo Gaming / GTA: Would it sell?
« on: March 03, 2003, 04:07:42 PM »
Could matter less to me about GTA.  Probably won't get it either way. . .

Not to say I don't like PS2 or whatever. . . I just don't think that I would spend 50 dollars on that game.  It doesn't appeal to my tastes.  It's fun to play on occassion, but I myself wouldn't buy it.

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda Look
« on: March 03, 2003, 04:04:50 PM »
Amen.

Actually, seeing the Link in Soul Caliber. . . he looks oddly fake. . . I'm sure a game will be fine if they use "realistic" graphics, but he looks oddly artificial.  I like the new style though, but it doesn't matter which way they go with the next game, graphically speaking.

Nintendo Gaming / Disturbing comments-again
« on: March 03, 2003, 03:59:19 PM »
Despite the rating, Nintendo games and their affiliates tend to make more mature games than the other systems.  Honestly, what's mature about blowing the crap out of people and watching digital tits and meaningless violence (or dumb-reason violence).  One of the many reasons I liked Metroid Prime is that not every enemy tried to kill you.  You could walk right past some.

Not to say that GTA isn't fun.  It's great fun to blow people up and slaughter innocents, but it can only entertain for so long.  Things like Zelda last a long, long time.

But Hobbit for cube is cool.  I probably won't get it, but it's nice to know Nintendo is getting some stuff.  Same for FF:CC.

Nintendo Gaming / Win Zelda: TWW and meet Miyamato?
« on: March 03, 2003, 03:33:45 PM »
No point for me. . . already have a Gamecube, already preordered WW, and meeting the master would be cool, but I prefer just waiting for his genius to come out on the little discs.

Why do people think that creativity can only be inspired by drugs?  It's possible, but I've never taken a drug in my life and you should see some of the crap I make up.

Also, if oyu haven't seen the WW as a video or haven't played it, you can't pass judgement.  Screenshots say nothing.  It's amazing.  Link does look extremely silly, but he has very provocative emotions and good expressions and whatnot.  It's good, trust me.

Nintendo Gaming / Earthbound 2 Coming?

Hal laboratories is making Earthbound 2.  At least, that's what everything says, so it is probably true.

Nintendo Gaming / Sega was rumored to be bought by Nintendo?
« on: February 28, 2003, 11:38:20 AM »
I'm not a mighty Sega fan, but their games are fun, and if anyone buys them, I hope it's Nintendo.

And I doubt EA has the money to buy them, but that's just a guess.  Plus it's not clear how long XBOX will hold out. . . one more console might do it in, and then Rare and all would be free to roam again.  Not to say that I like Rare, though.  Hate Rare, but Sega good.

Nintendo Gaming / My mom is going to steal my Gamecube.
« on: February 28, 2003, 11:34:06 AM »
Mwa ha ha!  More and more innocents are pulled into the videogaming cult!

As for me, my mom used to play Waverace for 64 a lot, and probably would play the GC one if I got it.  Other than that, though, they only play very rarely.
