Nintendo Gaming / Platium gamecube has come to me!!!!
« on: March 26, 2003, 12:41:45 PM »
I like my black Gamecube.  Tis probably my favorite color, though, so that helps.  Black just seems to fit systems, though.  I had a black N64, too.  It just seems appropriate.

I saw an EB ad in a magazine that advertised selectively Nintendo products. . .

You're completely wrong.  Almost every review I've read (and that's a lot, believe me) has said that this is very different from OoT, having new items, better puzzles, many more side quests, a much better storyline, and more in depth gameplay.  I think that it'll blow OoT away, and I adore that game.

And yes, I would pay money to see the movie, even if I do know the ending.  There's always something worthwhile inbetween.  I write stories and stuff, and though I usually know my ending ahead of time, I still take the time to fill up the middle as effectively and as entertainingly as possible.  And I enjoy doing it.  Perhaps your problem is that since you've seen someone live, you figure you've lived.  You're utterly wrong.

Nintendo Gaming / Still Smashing?
« on: March 25, 2003, 01:37:49 PM »
That draft thing sounds cool.  I'll have to try it.

A new Smash Brothers will come out with the new console, I imagine.  It'll be awesome if they have a Mario with FLUDD and a Fox with a staff.  And a cel-shaded Link. . . so good. . . replace the useless secret characters.

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube's casing
« on: March 25, 2003, 01:34:05 PM »
It was an a piece of furniture at a place I was staying during Thanksgiving.  Some of the people that were playing were in a bunk bed near the TV, but it was too high up and, despite the long cords, my precious Cube got yanked to the cold, hard ground.  Still works, though, like a charm.

Ergh. . . I'm not sure when I'll get mine.  I ordered it online and it ships today, so it could get to me by tomorrow or in three days.  The anticipation!

Nintendo Gaming / ZeldaWW Question
« on: March 25, 2003, 12:49:59 PM »
I already played OoT, but have not yet played WW.  If nothing else, play OoT for the sheer goodness of the game, but the consistent plot will also be nice.  You can probably play some of WW while still playing OoT and still get just as excited.

Nintendo Gaming / **NOT OFFICIAl!!** New handheld sytem!
« on: March 25, 2003, 12:43:27 PM »
I imagine the next handheld will be of about N64 type quality, possibly slightly less than that.  The Nintendo handhelds seem to be equivalent to the systems they make:

Gameboy (and color): NES
GBA: SNES
next: N64
etc.

That'd make sense to me.

Heh, name all the Koopa Kid guys from Mario Brothers 3 for NES.  If you know that. . . get some help.

Oh yes, and when my Gamecube fell about four feet down onto hard tile; it still works great.  It seems to me that your problem lies not in Nintendo products but in your choice of towels.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Fans vs. the Third Parties
« on: March 25, 2003, 12:26:28 PM »
Nintendo fans have every right to dismiss a third party game, because Nintendo will undoubtably be better.

However, you should not.  I have played some very fun third party games (none that I liked more than Nintendo, in general, but they were still spectacular), and while certain developers (like Rare) should be avoided, others are very skilled in the art of video game making.

One thing I don't get. . . XGRA is made by a third party. . . but isn't F-zero, too?  It's a Nintendo product, but Sega's making it (just a comment, Sega is definitely one of those skilled developers).

Aha!  The truth is revealed.  That's right. . . a bit of information I'd lost long ago to the depths of my mind.

But I almost never dust things.  I'll wipe off the dust on my Gamecube with a soft cloth or my shirt/hands, but I think it's rather pointless to do much else.

Nintendo Gaming / Still Smashing?

Give me a break. . . Super Smash Brothers Melee is ten times as good as Halo, even on its bad days.  And I can say that, because I've played both extensively.  Halo is very, very fun, but Super Smash Brothers Melee is virtual Heaven.

Just don't look at the poster in the EGM issue with a Wind Waker review.  The review is fine. . . it gives away a few things, but nothing you don't already know or care about.  Nothing important.  The poster gives all the bosses, how to defeat them, songs and how to use them (and maybe how to get them), and things about a few other items, like a camera and the tingle tuner.  Tells you how to get and use those.  The biggest disappointment for me was knowing what the bosses were ahead of time.

Nintendo Gaming / starfox adventures new question
« on: March 25, 2003, 04:16:24 AM »
It was good, but it'd be better if Nintendo or something made it.  I am not impressed at all by any of Rare's creations. . . Star Fox was the only one that gave me any pleasure to play.

Hark!  Hear I a claim that Roy is superior to Marth in skill?  I think not!

Roy is more powerful, but Marth is much, much quicker.  I have this ability to keep people up in the air for entire minutes (which, needless to say, annoys them a lot, so I avoid doing it).  Thus far, only one has about equal skill, my friend who plays as Fox.  I haven't practiced very much at all recently, but I'm still very good with Marth.

This game looks as dumb and corny as heck.  FFX was pretty good; meladramatic as they always are, but good.  This one is just plain silly.

Nintendo Gaming / New to The Cube...

Definitely get Super Smash Brothers Melee.  If you have any sense of good in your heart, you will love it.  I'm talking "a-man-holds-a-gun-to-your-head-and-you'd-rather-die-than-say-you-hate-SSBM" love.  It's awesome.

Other games?  Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil series, Pikmin, and many others.  If you have questions about a game, ask and we will tell you of its quality.

Nintendo Gaming / Still Smashing?
« on: March 24, 2003, 03:45:20 PM »
Ah, yet another loyal Smash Brothers fan.  That is possibly my all-time favorite game (definitely the best fighting game ever, no matter what you say).  Whenever my friends and I get together we require ourselves to play at least one or two rounds of Smash Brothers (not to say we don't enjoy doing it, we love it, even my friend that plays Peach and basically "whoop-chas" through the whole match).  I even play it by myself, sharpening my skills with Marth (though in the past five or so months I've only been playing occassionally, so I got rusty.  Between my dark television and doing other things I haven't played my cube very frequently.  That will soon change, upon receiving Wind Waker).  But I cannot even begin to describe how much I like that game.  My only thing against it?  The secret characters are entirely too similar to the main ones (most of them), and that could have more time and ingeniuty put into it.  But even with that problem, it is still one of my favorite games ever, period.
