I still think Final Fantasy XII will find its way onto Wii eventually. I'd also bank on a Final Fantasy VII remake on Wii.

But they're out there. The new guy at work quit his job at Sam Goody in December and was unemployed for about 3 months. He used his tax refund to buy a PS3... "just because." He said he was bored and wanted to try Blu-Ray out.

Nintendo could have included instructions on how to block the Wii's MAC ID. They could've printed them on one of those peel-off plastic stickers (like the ones put on store windows) and stuck it on the top of the console itself so no one with eyes and motor functions could possibly miss it and if they did, at least Nintendo did everything they possibly could in that situation to make sure said instructions weren't ignored.

I think the many owners of Clubhouse games on DS would disagree with you. That's one of the most popular online games and based on the amount of DS games coming to Wii, I wouldn't doubt CHG is on the way as well.

I wasn't implying that nongamers don't play online games at all or aren't interested. Friend codes suck for everyone. I'd bet though that the system universally pisses off gamers more. And if Nintendo can't please gamers who have been playing for years, how can they hope to bring nongamers into the online gaming scene with a totally unintuitive structure? I think most of us can agree that friend codes are needlessly difficult to deal with and alienate gamers and nongamers alike which is the exact opposite result Nintendo was going for.

I bet NOA tried, but it's not their call. I don't expect Reggie to admit that the friend code system sucks even if he believes it. He's going to have to bend over and take it in the ol' brown eye from NCL like the rest of Nintendo of America does.

Well, obviously, it's not true, but the delivery of your comment was still hilarious.

This sucks, but not at all surprising.

Personally, I see this as primarily a gamer's issue. Online gaming isn't really meant for nongamers, at least not yet. Certainly, it's not helping things along. Nintendo is still trying to keep those people coming back so getting them to game online seems long-term to me. And I think more than a minority of Wii owners will go online with albeit begrudgingly so. Friend codes suck but how many Super Smash Bros. Brawl players with broadband internet will be able to resist to urge to play online? My guess is not many. People won't stop using friend codes because the system is unnecessarily clumsy, but they sure as hell won't stop complaining about it until Nintendo realizes that NO ONE besides Nintendo thinks friend codes are a good idea.

Eh, not interested. But I'm glad it's coming exclusively to Wii.

Wow, this sucks for Sony... but at least now I actually plan on playing DMC4 even if DMC3 was impossible.

I don't see FFXIII going anywhere. MGS4 might, but even that might remain exclusive. Regardless, Sony is still doing better than Nintendo did with N64. They're losing exclusivity, but their still getting those games. And I think it'd be worse if Sony lost exclusivity to Nintendo more than MS. Right now, Nintendo is raping the Japanese market and catching up to 360 steadily in the US (not sure about Europe). Nintendo has done all that without many big third party titles. If Nintendo got the big multiplatform games too, everyone would be in trouble.

NGamer magazine's next month preview has a picture of a planet, suggesting that it's a hint. It's Final Fantasy VII. Suck it.

See, theories are easy to make up. People like to throw around names like NiGHTS, but likely, it's either nothing, something stupid, or a game we know is coming like Super Mario Galaxy. Maybe they got to play it. Whatever. I hate when magazines do sh*t like that. What the hell is the point of hyping up news for 5 weeks in the future? Shut up. All anyone has to do is wait a few weeks, look at the cover and decide whether to buy it or better yet, loiter at Barnes & Noble and read it for free. If anyone is even lazier, they can wait 10 minutes after it reaches a newstand and read about it online.

They've always put out a lot of titles. I'm just saying that working on a fewer titles could be the best thing for them. I hate to say it but they might have to layoff a lot of people and keep the best programmers, designers etc. they have then have them create titles, even if they release less of them. Sega was a great developer. Over the past few years, they got their priorities mixed up. They wanted to be the biggest 3rd party developer/publisher and their focus shifted from making good games to publishing a lot of games, regardless of quality. I feel like they need to take a good look at their business model, realize that it's not that good, and start fresh.

In the last few years, Sega has made too many games which is why most of them are so bad. They're rushed andsloppy. Instead, they should work on only a few titles at a time and work on them until they're ready. Then they might get some credibility back.

A game like NiGHTS could bring old Sega back. It's a franchise some people have fond memories of. Releasing a good sequel could put them back on track.

To be a little more specific, Nintendo gamers buy games made by Nintendo because third party support has generally sucked for the last 10 years. Nintendo's own titles were basically the only sure bet at quality gaming without buying another console. I think Nintendo gamers would be more willing to support 3rd party offerings if they were just plain better on Nintendo consoles. Make a good game and it has a better chance of selling... unless it's called Beyond Good and Evil.

I don't think this is a NiGHTS sequel. These mystery sequel rumors almost always involve either NiGHTS or Kid Icarus. People like throwing those names around. Whatever.

The text in ONM is pretty cryptic. It could mean everything.... and ONM is super-lame, adding to the lameness of the rumor.

That game that came with the analog stick Saturn Controller. Only cult fans are obsessed with it... all 12 of them. It was a pretty neat game from what little I remember of it. I'd love to see a sequel on Wii rather than not see a sequel on Wii or at all.

I agree. I'm not really into ultra-violent games, but I'd rather they be on the console of my choice than not be there. The more variety, the larger the install base which leads to more and better games. Everyone wins, but most importantly me because I get to play many of the games I want to play without having to buy new hardware.

LInk's character model likely won't change. DS probably can't handle any better. It shouldn't matter too much though. Link only looks weird when close-up and much of the action seems relatively far away.

I hope Ganondorf doesn't make it. Nintendo shouldn't force him into the games (i.e. Twlight Princess). I realize the series isn't known for its storyline, but I think it could benefit if they didn't rely on Ganon being behind almost every evil plot against Hyrule.

1. The name still sucks, but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means. It's a name. Who cares? It never should've been that big of a deal.

2. I felt like $250 was perhaps too much, but it's still not $600 and most people are willing to pay it. Controller prices are still out of contreeze.

3. Wii Sports pack-in was nice, but I still feel like an extra controller should've been in there, especilly since they're still a bit hard to find and it's March.

4. I'd be more inclined to buy VC games if they were cheaper. I'd be even more inclined to buy them if they had better and harder to find games. I don't need another Ocarina of Time. I loved the game, but no, I'd rather see Actraiser or something.

5. Should've launced earlier, but it makes no difference now. I'm more disheartened that neither Super mario Galaxy nor Metroid Prime 3 have release dates.

I didn't get Children of Mana for the same reason. I'm not buying 2 versions of the game so my brother and I can play multiplayer. I'm still hoping that Seiken Densetsu 3 eventually makes it to the Virtual Console. Slim chance, I know...

I like the MiiRG idea. It'd be cool if you could create the storyline and towns and dungeons yourself. Yeah, kind of like RPG maker, but perhaps easier to work with.

And PS3 Gundam is number. That'll last until next week maybe.

Mark Rein isn't as publicly critical of Nintendo nowadays either. Still, highly critical, but not as critical. He used to fly of the f-ing handle. Maybe he toned it down just in case. I'm not expecting anything to change anytime soon, but it's always better to not to say anything bad when given a choice.

It wasn't even really a pot shot. Reggie was responding to the crowd. He could have done worse. God knows Sony and Microsoft have (who seemingly go out of their way to trash the competition). He could have palmed Phil Harrison's face and pushed it away. Or Miyamoto could have crawled behind Harrison and have Reggie push him.
