Sadly, we don't get the U.S. Acres DLC this week.

Despite 3D Gunstar Heroes being delayed a week, and Freedom Planet being delayed due to a hard lock bug in the final build for retail Wii Us, there's still a decent amount of new content for the stores this week. The headliners are the second week of Nintendo's "games for hardcore gamers in August" Virtual Console program with Pandora's Tower, and the first game published by Unity in the form of Wind-Up Knight 2.

On the 3DS side for North America, the headliners are a couple of old European retail games that will not be so lucky on this side - Paddington and Garfield Kart. Yes, a cat who has no business moving fast unless lasagna is prominently involved straps into a go kart. Just accept it. In more logical games, the unique Natsume/Arc System Works title Brave Tank Hero dropped on Tuesday, and it seems like everybody missed it.

Europe's week... let's put it this way; the subject line in the PR email advertised a Darksiders II sale. It's a big one - 75% off - but still! There's a demo, Megaman & Bass, and a few other sales. Sorry, Europe. Next week will be better for you, and you can write that in pen, crayon or whatever writing implement you have handy.

Wow, Pandora's Tower! Do you think it'll sell well?

Nintendo should have continued the trend of Wii games being $10 the week of release.  They would have my money for both Kirby and Pandora's Tower already but since they're both regular price and I have a solid backlog of games to play, I'll wait and very likely end up not buying either.

I also with they'd have stuck with that. That deal caused me to buy all 3 during the original deal. I did buy the Kirby game, but only because I was able to sell my disc on eBay for $31 first and I'd rather have the digital copy for several reasons.
