You'll soon be getting your Shaq on.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has been funded, and will be coming to the Wii U.

The collaborative effort by NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and developer Big Deez Productions has raised $473,884 at the time of writing, putting it over it's $450,000 goal.

The game's developers promises to deliver an experience far more compelling than its 1995 predecessor. The game will be a beat 'em up borrowing from such classics as Street Fighter, Streets of Rage and Devil May Cry.

There is no current word on a release date for the Wii U version.

I'll completely understand if Nintendo can't/won't get the original on VC to promote this.

On the downside, the game got funded. On the upside, 1340 people are now condemned to play it.  :P:

I have fond memories of watching someone else play the Sega Genesis version and then not trying it myself.
