Rockstar Announces Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS

Nintendo fans can finally get in on the GTA action.

Nintendo's E3 press conference yesterday revealed that Rockstar was bringing a new addition to the Grand Theft Auto series to Nintendo's handheld platform. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an entirely new entry in the GTA series allowing players to interact with the sprawling environments through the DS touch screen.

The story involves players uncovering the truth behind the corruption of the Triad crime syndicate.

Currently there is no release date set for the title nor is it clear if game is modeled after the more recent 3D titles or the series' earlier 2D titles.

I'd hope for 2D, as all of the 3D games have been pretty lame. The controls suck even on the PC!

Nice.  The GBA one was pretty good, but too short. 

This would have been cool, or even notable, in 2005.
