I actually found that when I first played the game (I got it 2 days ago) i didn't really like it that much, my racing aprtner was being selfish and I was getting annoyed. However it's grown on me and I think it's deserving of your review Ty. What some sites do is in the mad hurry to get their review out before other sites is they might play any bloody version of the game, BETA code? Oh well, so long as we review before IGN, Hire it out for a day, write some stuff down and post it, never touch the game again. That's why i tend to like magazine reviews more than Internet ones, because they actively go over their review numerous times before going to print. PGC's system is excellent too where they jot down their initail impressions almsot straight after the game launches and then post the well thought out reviews after they've had more play time witht he game.
Good Job Ty and Johnny.

Magazine reviews like EDGE? Who gave MKDD a 5/10 for some reason. OMG IT PLAYS TOO MUCH LIKE MARIO KART

But yeah, good reviews PGC, i agree with pretty much everything there. (oh and rainbow road is easy)

Great reviews, they were accurate and well written--probably the best ones I've read on MK: DD. I like how you guys don't rush them for when the game comes out, because then the review seems rushed. Anyway, I have one question- does it matter which shoulder button you use for powersliding? I've tried both on different turns but I can't tell if there's a difference.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback.  I am actually a bit ashamed at how late these are; we got lazy with the holiday and all.  There are still one or two more reviews of MKDD coming in eventually, hopefully soon.  Some of you may disagree, but I think we can have good AND timely reviews, and that's something we are shooting for.  I think it's been better this fall that last fall, but we could improve a lot.

BTW, it doesn't matter which trigger you use for powersliding.

Nice review, though I don't agree on the graphics rating cause I think the game looks beautifull, try looking at MK64 and then look at this game

Er uh what? We both gave it a pretty high graphics rating. I didn't give it a 9 though, because it didn't have anything in the realm of revolutionary cool effects, like Mario Sunshine's splattery mayhem and what have you. So, yeah, I was comparing it to current games and not the predecessor that came out 9 years ago, herk herk.

Oh, I don't think IGN rushed their review or anything, since Fran wrote something the size of a whale and also got it up before the game shipped in the U.S., right? No doubt they were given an advance copy, and you know darn well that games are finished and bug tested a month before they come out. lol 7.9 lol

I totally agree with your reviews, My main compalin was the Lan Mode in the game. It's like nintendo just added the feature at the last second, Its stupid in LAN mode how it doesnt keep a tally of players wins.
Lets hope more games use LAN in the future.

Can someone tell me everything about the LAN mode? Like what mades you can do LAN in, how many people per Gamecube, how many Gamecubes, and how many people in a kart for each mode? Anything else about LAN would be appreciated too.

I have a really important question.

I saw a MK: DD commercial.  It was the one with the old lady and guy in the little driving buggy thing, and the Indian guy behind them?  If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.  I laughed out loud at this thing, for quite a while.  Surprised the heck out of me, and it was funny without the surprise.  Any idea where I can get this commercial.  I need to show it to my friends!

Just to answer a question about the gender of birdo that was asked about on a different thread its obvious he is a man because when you pick him in the character selection screen he makes a male sounding grunt.

My friends and I got to play this game all night last night. The multiplayer (we had 4) was awesome in race. My freind really loves battle, but he's starting to lean more toward the racing. You are really missing out on a lot if you just sit and gripe about this game instead of going out and playing it. It's an amazingly fun game, and I really hope yall really come around to liking it.

Some of the bigger differences to note are when coming up to a turn, you have to anticipate it earlier, and the drifting plays an even bigger part in this game then on the 64 version. Or that's what it seems like to me right now.

I love the graphics, nobody around here has said anything abou them at all yet, and we all live our lives based on when we can get our next session of video gaming in. So that can tell you that we have been big skeptics when it comes to graphics. The graphics in this game are crystal clear and colorful, and they definately get the job done.

I have now lost all hope and respect for the biased sites that are IGN and GameSpot. A fantastic game like this... 7.9! 9 at least. So... much... fun!

I might get this game tonight finally.  It was sold out last two times. . . I pray that I get it.  PLEASE!  Kinda inconvenient, though, since I'm getting interested in F-Zero again. . . finally got Diamond Cup and beat it on easy.  But I suppose I'll have plenty of time for F-Zero during the holidays.

Nope, not that night.  Nor today.  The friggin game sells out as soon as they stock it.  I suppose I should be happy for Nintendo, but DAMMIT!!  I'm getting pissed!
I'm probably going to end up ordering the game online.  We'll see. . .

What are your favourite character combos?  How do you prefer you kart stats? Do you prefer heavy karts with slow top speed and low acceleration? Do you rather heavy karts with high accel. and low top speed etc.??
