Mafia LVIX: Jurassic Park. Day 5.
« on: November 08, 2013, 01:33:06 AM »
Noooo! I'm falling behind in story telling again. I told myself I wouldn't let this happen. The worst thing is, it isn't so much writer's block as wanting to write too much. I really love this source material. I will overcome this speedbump. I will. But I just need to catch up on sleep right now.

Quick Story Notes:

At the armory, Muldoon and other guests get armed. The carnage has convinced Hammond to enact Project Extinction but only on the carnivores. Project: Extinction is a sort of kill switch. All the dinosaurs are embedded with a capsule that when released will fatally poison the animal. Ian Malcolm admits its kind of eerie but this proves his chaos theory.

They join up with Arnold who informs the park failure has something to do with a program Nedry created that sent signals all the fences had power when it actually shut certain ones off at different times creating a path between the main compound and Hammond's private compound. However, there was an error in the code which resulted in the power loss and all fences going down. The program has crippled the correct maintenance software. Arnold thinks a reboot of the system might fix it. After some debate, they decide to try it. It fails and the system doesn't reboot at all. Now they can not enact Project: Extinction. Arnold thinks someone needs to go to the breaker room and restart the power from there. He, Muldoon and Ian agree to do it. Hammond, the kids and Ellie are going off to Hammond's compound to see if Nedry is there and because it has it's own power source and security.

Along the way to the breaker room, the T. Rex crashes out of the bushes and starts chasing the Jeep. Muldoon guns it and they create some distance but the storm has knocked a tree on to the road and they crash. They scramble out to hide but the T. Rex sees Ian and chases him. Ian runs to the edge of the cliff and has nowhere to go as the T. Rex faces him down. Suddenly Spielberg calls and says that Ian can't die as he will be the only one available for the sequel so instead, the stomping of the T. Rex causes the cliff side to collapse with Ian presumed dead only to find out in the sequel, he totally survived. The T. Rex howls at the cliff and turns away. Everyone knows that cliffs are the T. Rex's kryptonite.

Meanwhile Hammond and company come across a Jeep stick deep in mud. No one is in it but there are foot prints on ahead. Driving along, they come across a half eaten body. It was Toruresu, a top geneticist of Hammond's. He was killed by the raptors. Hammond worries to go on if the raptors are loose in the area. He decides to back up and meet with Muldoon.

Announcement Post

Dead:
Pokepal148 - Townie (Killed by vote)
Toruresu - Townie (Killed by Mafia)

I'm sticking with the Midnight EST deadline. It just helps to keep things regular.
One thing to note. Once today's vote is concluded, the game will take a break for the weekend and resume late Sunday evening when I post the results of the day and reveal who lived and died and all that jazz.

That should cover it.

Game resumed.

Philosoraptor is actually one of my favorite parts of this mafia...says the rotting corpse.

Which he could post in the dead thread. For shame.

Oh my god. T_T That's what I get for picking pokepal just because I hate him. Why did the rest of the Town suspect thatguy yesterday? Or was that simply random?

But what I said still stands: The Mafia know who I am. They know I'm just a Blue. Why would anyone else but a blue out himself like that? In any case, I'm not outing myself. Everyone's role in the game is assumed to be a Blue until proven otherwise, via evidence from a Night action or an obvious tell.

If I'm alive, people suspect me, that's how it goes. Anyway, yesterday, a trusted source verified the things you said. Except I don't know what a Blue is. Are we playing Pokémon? If people are wondering about my vote choice, well, if you want to survive when you're down 2-0, you've got to pick someone. I figured I'd pick someone who was a little bit annoying in how he played his character so I wouldn't feel bad if he turned out to be a townie.

As for today, I agree the killer is the bigger problem, since he gets two hits tonight if he chooses. Given the way the game has been played and the activity around here, I think the killer is either Nickmitch, who has shown up to play sporadically in the daily threads, or it's Silenced, who... Well, you see why I picked pokéfan last night. I'm going to vote now, since I know I'll be back late and won't have much time. Still, it's subject to change right before I head to bed.

Vote Nickmitch

Sorry, I'm using some really hardcore language (as per my usual :P: : ) from Epicmafia.

Blue = Townie
Cop = Investigator
Inno = Innocent

Toruresu was tossing out random votes all game, so I don't think that vote means anything. ThePerm jumping in out of nowhere is what gives me pause.

Things just keep getting more quiet, and I'm out of ideas. I'll have to think a bit about this one.

Perm jumped in and out yesterday. So far, he's not around. Also, I don't think stevey has made a single appearance this whole game.

Thatguy is also incredibly manipulative in these games.

I believe those are our biggest concerns.

Well, we have a tie.

Nickmitch - 1
Silenced - 1

Sudden death tie-breaker has begun.

Also, if I had mod powers, I'd have deleted Pokepal's last picture post.

Well, looks like today's winning vote is Hammond's wrath. With the vote still tied, the rules clearly state:

"If the tie is unresolved after 30 minutes, then I will unleash my fury on you all and randomly select three people to die. I don't like ties."

I guess we'll find out late Sunday evening when I post the next day what has happened. Until then, rest easy.

I work 5 pm to 10pm az time. I was going to vote earlier, but I couldn't decide on who to vote. In this game there are two people I don't want to get on their bad sides.

They're going to kill you eventually no matter what you do. Unless you are one of them then there is no reason to not vote.
