the question is importance, and outside of monster hunter(which is huge don't get me wrong, is huge in japan) capcom hasn't done much

? It may not have sold gangbusters, but Resident Evil: Revelations got a lot of critical acclaim. Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition was one of the best 3DS launch games. Capcom also does the popular Ace Attorney series.

Ultimately I find that the companies that Nintendo typically works with these days lack a clear identity that makes them distinct from Nintendo's internal teams.  Like they just make the sequels that Nintendo themselves doesn't have the time to work on.  One thing I loved about Rare was that they made games that were as good as Nintendo's but had a distinct style to them that made it obvious that this wasn't some EAD game, it was a Rare game.  Silicon Knights is the butt of jokes these days but Eternal Darkness was unique and different from typical Nintendo fare.  I liked that a lot.

Much of the appeal of third party support is variety.  You get different devs with different ideas and approaches and styles.  I remember when Nintendo made a big stink about having Sega and Namco working on F-Zero and Star Fox and it just demonstrated to me how Nintendo does not get the whole damn point of third party support.  Sega's F-Zero turned out to be great but if they didn't make it, some Nintendo team would have.  We didn't gain anything from Sega's "support".  Now if we got Virtua Fighter out of it, okay, there's a game that isn't already on the console and is very different from anything Nintendo provides themselves.  Back in the 2D days third parties like Capcom, Square and Konami were a major contribution of the "Nintendo experience".  They made lots of games for the NES and SNES and those games were different than Nintendo's first party offerings.  The combination of all those developers resulted in a very strong library of games covering a variety of styles and genres.

I don't know what Next Level or Monster Games truly bring to the table.  It seems to be that their best quality is taking directions from Nintendo.  How did they leave their mark on a Punch-Out game that is so derivative that it literally has only one new character or a Pilotwings game that literally lifts level structure right out of Wii Sports Resort?  I'm glad they didn't **** this stuff up but being competent isn't what I'm looking for in a developer.  Needless to say I'm not looking forward to the next game from those devs because they'll just be some generic Nintendo sequel.  If Next Level turned it down, Nintendo would just find some other dev to do it and the game would be exactly the same.  They're pretty much just outsourcing the grunt work.

What would impress me would be a dev team with its own unique style, working on their own creation, that is different from what Nintendo themselves would normally make, and with Nintendo's role being mostly to ensure high standards of quality.  I would like all games to be as good as Nintendo's (or as good as Nintendo's game WERE ten years ago) but I don't want all games to play like Nintendo's.

Megaman Legends 3 was also very important OH WAIT!! along with the contribution of 6 different versions of Street Fighter 2 on VC for us to enjoy...

If we're talking about companies where Nintendo funded the projects, then I'd probably pick Monster Games for ExciteBots, though I don't really know enough about the company side of things to know who has made which games.

If we're just talking third-parties in general who made games for Nintendo platforms, I'd probably pick Square-Enix.

If I had to say who was my favorite then I could not pick a single company to choose as my favorite. I consider Nintendo to have a inner circle of second and third party (western) developers that I am very pleased to see games developed from them for either the 3DS or Wii U.

Sonic Adventure say "Hi". It was a really good Sonic game, even most gamers that think Sonic has become crap agree this was a good Sonic game (except for the terrible fishing sections with Big the Cat).

it's a controversial topic of quality there(and we got the less glitchy dx version)... there are people who think Sonic 06 was good,

Those people are wrong.

And the Sonic Adventure games were good. Especially the remakes.

Honestly, I'm enthralled by what a lot of the smaller, non-Nintendo-affiliated dev houses do. I almost consider these guys a dream team of small "independents." These developers may not be in an official relationship with Nintendo, but I feel like their spiritual home should be on Nintendo platforms and, by golly, I'm sad whenever I hear of stuff they do not coming "home."

I'm talking about companies like:

5th Cell (Scribblenauts, Lock's Quest)
WayForward (Shantae, Duck Tales: Remastered)
Shin'en (Iridion, Nano Assault)
Carmine Red, Associate Editor

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what becomes of Nintendo's relationship with Platinum Games. The Wonderful 101 is looking, well, wonderful!

If Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 are successful then I would not rule out sequels to those games later in the Wii U's reign. Also, I would not rule out Nintendo published sequels to Madworld and Vanquish. There is also a good possibility that Metal Gear Reveangance might get some kind of special edition on the Wii U later this year. Lastly, there is also a good chance that Nintendo will fund Platinum to develop more new IPs exclusively for the Wii U, and possibly the 3DS.

I like what Ubisoft's studios have done over the years. I more or less like them because they don't have the "**** Nintendo attitude"
