Glad to hear you're ok considering how dangerously close to collapsing you were. That level of creatinine is absolutely nuts.

A friend of mine had problem with her kidneys (kidney stones from a lack of water) and I literally had to carry from the bathroom. The renal system is no joke. Your blood is what moves you.

I wonder if the no carbs diet is what really did you in. Despite eating more meat, the jump in levels is extremely abnormal. I'd be interested to hear what your doctor had to say about it and a little more about what you ate this past month, if you feel comfortable sharing.

ah man, you're one of my favorite forumers and a minecrafting buddy. Thats one thing I hate about the internet, many times someone can just pass away and because there's some anonymity to the internet(although im friends with Shyguy on myspace and I think facebook) you can't always find out if something happens to one of your comrades.

They did a biopsy and said my glomerular were 90% scarred over. They don't know what the cause was, but high blood pressure was probably a partial factor. I am on dialysis now and looking towards a kidney transplant.

I wouldn't call that okay... but you are alive, so that much is good. Dialysis must suck. I'm sorry you have to be on that... hopefully you can get that kidney you need.

To save people wondering, it appears he has this. Please for the love of god, don't read too much into in or else you will end up self diagnosing. This is also why they treat Kidney stones seriously as the symtoms are hard to differentiate.

But something is bothering me and I gotta ask. After dialysis, why can't they simply take the kidney out? We have two of them, and you only need one to live.

The problem it is caused by a systemic issue, it nailed both his kidneys at the same time. The protein pickling was only a symptom, not the cause. If it was a Kidney infection or an STD, he would have been far better off since it more than likely only would have only affected only one Kidney.

That and it would have implied he got laid, abet with someone who wasn't clean. Maybe a sister.

Wanna hear a weird fact? After the transplant, I have to wear SPF 45 Sunblock everyday. I also can't eat grapefruit.

Here is a webMD article on it. Its a little old but it breaks down to that Grapefruit can make some drugs more potent.
