games you don't play anymore.

I'm one of those people that buys the great games when they come out but settles for the "deals" on other games. I bought Madden 2002 for 15 dollars a while ago, and just bought 2003 after playing it at a friends house and seeing how much more i liked it (for 20 bucks). Anyway, now i don't know what to de with 2002. I could go sell it at software etc but they propbrably won't give me more than 5  bucks in store credit. So what do you guys do when you upgrade yoour sports games? Any other options beside software etc and the pawn shop?

Personally I keep all my games.  You can not get that much for them anyway, and I like the memories the game provided.  Same for books.  Guess you can say I am a collector.

Check with the hospitals/children's homes in your area.  Many of them have purchased or been donated systems.  Especially when it comes to children's hospitals that may have burn victims and terminally ill kids that will be there for a while, videogames give them a little cheer.  If any of these organizations have a Gamecube, I'm sure they would appreciate any donation.  Natch, same goes for older systems and games.

Yes, it is good to donate, especially to children in the hospital.
I got some killaz on my payroll.

Our family usually donates $$$.

But back on topic. I usually keep all my games, I'm sort of a collector myself.

Although I usually stop playing them after I've beaten the initial quest.

Up until this November I had never sold/traded in any of my games. But then again I never had owned Star Fox Adventures before=P I think getting Metroid Prime for 10 bucks worked out well. =)

I yern to own as many games as possible yet I always sell something.

It takes a while though before I trade in a game.

I mostly trade import games though because you can't rent them to see if you like them first. So I go by reviews, but I'm very optimistic too, so a 7 wouldn't discourage a purchase knowing full well there are games with better scores out there.

In the past though after playing a some of those better games I was left wondering how such a game could ever get such a high score. Resident Evil (remake) and Animal Crossing.

AC: is basically a gambling game, meaning the whole game is centered around chance which is addictive to some but painfully boring to me. I haven't sold AC yet though because my brother likes it, so it is basically played with him. But don't leave me alone with those animals, and pulling up weeds for superficial unappreciative creatures is not something I want to develope an unhealthy attatchment to.

I do like the graphics though.

(really.)

RE: I'm sorry but I had already played "Alone in the Dark" and when the dog jumped through the window in that game I got me scared. Still in the end RE got the credit and still does: See Egm's Greatest Gaming Moments in the Halo 2 (cover) issue November 2002 page 254.

Plus the fact that it was a total rip off of AitD, which everyone seemed to forget left me cold.

That and it's sluggish movement and pace (the control being lifted from the PS1 title. Capcom didn't even include analogue control for it or RE Zero.) and that it was not really scarey anymore (if ever) put it below my other titles.

I bought it shamefully for the GC only because at the time I had no visually arresting games, or any since SSBM and Rougue Leader, as well as before Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime.

Other games I sold are imports Like P.N.0, but that's import so I can't talk about it here.

Besides those titles Luigi's mansion and Pikmin still get played. Rougue Leader and Smash Brothers mostly though. Metroid Prime is loved but I've unlocked mostly everything and Eternal darkness I finished long ago.

as for non Nintendo related titles I have the Sims (new!) and Tony Hawk 4 these games get as much play as SSBM, and I'm looking for more titles like Splinter Cell (I rented this game, and it may be the next game I buy), and Nightfire which I plan on picking up soon.

I don't like sports games, but generally, I keep my games even after I've played them out, unless they really really suck. You never know when you want to blast through Delphino Plaza again or max out your Rupees.

Just a side note, but instead of releasing a new edition every year, why doesn't EA just release one for a couple of years, then release yearly stat and team upgrades via a memory card or internet? I know the only system that could really take advantage of that would be the Xbox with it's hard drive, but it's something to keep in mind for the next console generation... it might even increase sales if people know they wouldn't have to buy a new version every year....

...well what I meant was that instead of holding down a button to run, the amount of pressure you placed on the anolog stick would determine how fast you moved like in most modern 3D games.....

I almost always keep my games.  I still go back and play my NES and stuff, and I recently hooked up my N64 and have been playing it.  But a sports game, of which there will be plenty of updates, you can donate it or whatever.

Joshnickerson---Simple answer to that.   EA likes to make money.  Lots of people by the same game year after year.  Besides, I guess they never truly feel that Madden is the perfect football game.

Back on topic, I can't bear selling any of my games, no matter how bad they are.  Some of them are even quite embarrassing to own, but it's still nice to have them.  Like Chrono Trigger sucks, but I still keep it ( just kidding---it's my fav. RPG).
What's that smell?
