I am interested in hands on experiences with the controller. Like I said I have a feeling this is more a prototype and it will change a bit to make it a bit more comfortable.

No. Except the 3DS stuff and the Presentation was cool how they did the screen.

*sigh* No Wii games mentioned...

It looks like it's going to be a long year for Nintendo fans if you don't own a 3DS.  Interesting way to try to get people to buy one: completely gut the other Nintendo gaming product.

Overall, this conference was pretty terrible IMO.  They spent way too long on nothing interesting with the Zelda 25th anniversary, there's nothing in that 3DS presentation that makes me want to buy one outside maybe Mario 3D, and while the Wii U looks to have good 3rd party support (for now) there's nothing about that console that makes me want to buy it when those needs are already covered by other consoles.  That controller is awful and needs to be completely redesigned. It just looks like Nintendo's created a console without a reason to own it.

Yeah, I guess most of the other games don't really need to be announced, so hopefully they are at the show.

I am, though I wish we got to see some 1st party games for Wii U in a demo reel. 3DS section was kind of blah, great games yes, but there wasn't much energy behind it. The controller is fascinating, though they will need to focus on making it comfortable.

I wish Nintendo went with Stream. Seems far more appropriate and descriptive.

I like the new controller though I would have preferred real analog sticks. It looks really thick though.

How can the analog stick be positioned above the buttons? The human thumbs aren't going to be able to handle that.

I am extremely happy. The only things missing are the Nintendo Titles for the U. But we all know they are coming, I just hope we get some vids in the next day or so.

You know what.  I'm going to step back and take a wait and see approach.  I was almost sick with worry and anger after the Wiimote was revealed because it took one of the things I'm really bad at, motor control, and made it the focus.  I was worried I have to find a new set of hobbies.  that worked out.  We'll see.  Their is plenty of feedback they'll be getting at the conference.

Wii U brining the NAMES AND GAMES.

Yeah, that's a good batch of 3rd party titles.  Pity Nintendo has failed to justify why I'd want to play these on the Wii U with that awful controller.

Maybe it won't be awful. Don't know until you have it in your hands. I guess it does look very big and unwieldy. But looks aren't everything!

So EA is taking over online for wii u? is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Well, they use Gamespy and Punkbuster. Gamespy hasn't impressed me with matchmaking or online multiplayer. Punkbuster seems to kick people for random reasons. There's EA Online pass which means you have to pay $10 to play online if you bought the game used. And EA will shut down the servers of old games when new games cut out.

The press conference wasn't better than Microsoft or Sony's. They were all about the same. Nothing really made my jaw drop.

Disappointed that the online  isn't Steam or really shown.  In fact this looks like a 2013 release not a 2012 one...

No, they were very careful to say that there were 8 Wii U tech demos on the floor and nothing else.

Yeah, I'm in that boat.  The Wii is more or less completely abandoned.

Wii U is a stupid name but that probably won't matter.  But I'm not impressed.  Nintendo didn't sell me on it.  The only stuff they showed was the usual Wii Sports kind of bullshit and a Zelda game that might just be a video or I wouldn't be surprised if it was a remake of Skyward Sword and they have not revealed it as such so that we suckers buy it for the Wii and then go out and buy it again a year later on the Wii U.

They're getting better third party support so there's that.  But that isn't enough since I have a PS3 and all those games will be on that system and I'm already comfortable with that controller.  This screen controller looks unusable due to the ergonomics of it.  I can't imagine playing games on it for any length of time without it being incredibly uncomfortable.  They need to show something that demonstrates that the Wii U is a must buy and that having a giant screen on a controller that looks ridiculously uncomfortable and probably costs $100 is worthwhile.  Playing games without using a TV isn't enough.

What I've realize though is that it's the same bullshit from Nintendo that has turned me off them in the first place.  Lots of casual **** and lots of sequels.  The 3DS had the best showing but it's the same old ****.  There's nothing new.  Nothing offering a new experience I have not already played before.  If I like a game, I like getting sequels to it but that's ALL Nintendo makes these days.  The Wii never surprised me (in a good way).  Nintendo has become formulaic.

I do want to know about Wii U though.  What are the specs or are we playing the "hide the specs" game again because the real specs are embarrassing and won't cut it against the competition?  What is the price?  How much does one of those controllers cost?

It's a weak E3 because there is nothing for the Wii and they didn't reveal much of ANYTHING on the Wii U.  Usually there is either nothing for the old system and tons for the new or the new one is just revealed and the focus remains on the old one.  But here?  It's like Nintendo is taking a year off from the console game.  Well that's nice Nintendo.  I'll just give Sony my money while you **** around.

Well f*ck, time to hack your Wii's everyone.

Xenoblade and The Lost Story are not listed on NOA press release for upcoming Wii games, which basically means they're never coming over here then.  Well I guess with all the money Nintendo's been making they don't have a problem wasting it on games that will never come to their largest and most profitable territory.

So yeah, now we can rage because North America has been OFFICIALLY screwed over.  It's sh!t like this that makes Nintendo systems deserve to get hacked and pirated to hell you goddamn lazy f*cking bastards.

Yeah, I would pretty much throw an "I told you so" in here, because so many people said these games were coming to NA because they were announced for Europe, and that we'd see that announced at E3.  I said Europe announcing this made no sense when they could just wait for it to be announced at E3, unless they knew NA wasn't going to touch these games.  Well, how's that working out for everyone?   :@

Yeah, I might have to import these games and go through Homebrew as well, as much as I find that distasteful.

The Wii does seem to be abandoned at the moment. I wonder how much $ Gamestop will give me for my Wii?
