Anyway, if they didn't get rid of the body, they'd be going against Muslim tradition, but no country in their right mind would be so stupid as to allow Osama Bin laden to be buried on their turf, so dumping him in the ocean was the best thing they could do on short notice. There are already sympathizers trying to say he fought to the death and that one of his wives humped in front of him (doubtful, since he was shot in the head, and he's 6'4", she was used as a human shield), but most people realize that he is actually dead.

Edit - I'm totally gonna make a T-Shirt of the "I was busy killing Osama Bin Laden" caption.

They probably wanted to get rid of the body in the sea because if it was buried anywhere that spot could end up being used like a shrine for his followers and supporters. I seen a show once on the history channel about what supposedly happened with Hitler's charred remains, and apparently the Soviets took the body and fully cremated it and then dumped the ashes in the sewer. That way there can be no burial spot or shrine for supporters to make pilgrimages to. However, for some reason the Soviets did keep a piece of Hitler's skull which is still kept in Moscow to this day.

Human remains have been known to wash ashore from time to time. That was what happened to Lacey Peterson a few years back and that was the only proof she had died. Scott Peterson killed her and dumped her body and he probably would have gotten away with it were it not for that fact. So I guess it depends on how the body was disposed of and where exactly it was dumped in the ocean.

It would be an interesting story to say the least if Bin Laden's remains are found washed ashore on a Pakistani beach a month from now.

One thing that is kind of funny about this is that this is the most significant news story in years and yet the Canadian news stations can't really cover it much. Today is the Canadian Federal Election so every Canadian news program is going to be covering the election results while American networks like CNN and Fox News have a field day with the Bin Laden story. D'oh!

Though I know they'll tie it in somehow with at least one "expert" being asked if Bin Laden's death has had any effect on the voters. "Well with Bin Laden out of the picture there is a less of a need for military funding and Canadians know that that money can be funneled into other public services which may sway the vote more towards... blah blah blah"

They should have strung his ass up in Time Square and let the people of New York take pictures and throw stones at him. The (radical) Muslims of the world have no issue with burning our flags and carricatures of our national identity, so let's show any other potential Osamas what they will get if they screw with us. Also, let's finally get the hell out of the Middle East and rebuild the towers.

If he is really dead, I hope that he is in the deepest pit of hell.

No, as amusing as that might be to some, we are better than the scum we fight. There's no need to stoop to their level and desecrate the dead. We killed him and threw him in the ocean, and I'm satisfied with that. Besides, the last thing we need right now is for us to incite even further violence in the Middle East through government-sanctioned anti-Islamic "insensitivity".

I think this quick disposal of the body without any videos or even photos of it released to the public is going to fuel conspiracy theories. For example, some people believe that Bin Laden has been dead for years, so someone could make the claim that the government had his body on ice all this time and maybe Obama just decided to thaw it out for a public approval boost or something. Another theory may be that he's not really even dead at all. I'm not saying I personally believe that, but those are examples of the sort of conspiracy theories that are going to pop up because of the way this was played out.

So...has anyone heard the story of what happened that fateful night? It's sounds crazy - crazy enough to be in the next Modern Warfare (calling it now).

Supposedly, 4 helicopters flew into the compound and were engaged by militants on the roof shooting RPG's. One helicopter was hit and crashed. Obama said no one hurt, so either he's lying or that was a crazy crash escape. The soldiers proceed to kill the shooters, drop down and breach a door. Once inside, they are met with resistant by OBL's top couriers and sons. After a firefight, they move in and find OBL using his wife as a human shield.

BTW, the President, CIA, and Military specialists are all watching this live.

So without any hesitation, they give the order to shoot them both. Then they shot him again in the head. Afterwards, they search the compound for any information. They find more wives and children. They arrest them and leave them for the Pakistan military. After grabbing all the intel they could find, they then destroy the crashed helicopter and set the entire mansion on fire.

Fucking bad ass.

Part of the Muslim burial procedure in case of a threat of defilement involves tying weights to the body when putting it in the sea. So nothing should be washing up on shore for several million years.

I can't believe that it took them this long to actually get him though. Didn't we supposedly kill him a few years ago?

I think this time it's actually for real, but I think they should show a little bit more proof than what they have - he was the most wanted man in America by the way.
