I think it will come out December 21, 2012. I've been impressed lately, Valve has hit all recent release dates.

The estimated release date cannot speak.  If the estimated release date does speak, do not listen to it.

There is a message hidden in the PR just like with the updates that happened to Portal 1 and HL2 the other day.

Coming this holiday. Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative game play, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Features single and multiplayer co-op modes.Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following. The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game. The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

I rather have portal/HL for the wii :'(

I still need to get and play the original portal and HL since they're sadly never coming to the wii. Are store still selling it (orange box) and is there some sort of a monthly fee or some online service force sign up crap that's involved? I don't know much about the inferior PC gaming subclass...

You can purchase the Orange Box on Amazon for about $30. Sadly, you do have to activate it through Steam, but it's completely free. If ever there was a reason to put up with the crappiness of Steam, then the Orange Box was it. Of course, Left 4 Dead doesn't hurt either.

Even if those games had come to the Wii, you would have been doing yourself a great disservice by not playing them with a mouse and keyboard.

yeah, i dont see how portal would play badly on the wii, but its likely not coming out on Wii so get it from steam yo. My mod levels are using portal cus it loads up the fastest of the source games for me.

Oh, I missed the first D when reading the "secret" message. It made more sense like that (spelled out ratmannh0nee, Rat Man honey), rat man is AFAIK the name of the mysterious person who left all those messages behind in Portal and went behind the lab walls.

I just finished watching a play through of Portal on youtube and I can see why it is well liked. There was a simple idea(The portal gun) and it was used well.

My friend gifted me Orange Box on Steam and Portal was amazing.

I do wish that Valve wouldn't ignore the Wii.

Don't feel bad, they ignore the PS3 too.

There is a 10 page article on Portal 2 in the new Game Informer. Mine came today, from what I saw in the screenshots this game is going to be epic. I can't wait until GDC and we get to see it in motion.

I knew when he left that opening there that someone would make that kind of comment; I suppose it's appropriate that it was you.

As someone who owns a Mac that would be a damn fine game machine if I ever felt like taking the time to boot into Windows to play something, I can't wait for Mac Steam.

I am not saying Macs are bad in anyway. I love my Mac, but theres no way my Mac thats now 2 and 1/2 years old could run these games anywhere near as well as my PC.

Would be convenient if you got the Mac version or at a discount if you owned the PC versions. Having Counter Strike on my Mac easily accessible would be awesome.

Ideally it would consider the Mac version to be the same game, and Steam lets you install a game on multiple machines as long as you sign in on the same account, so if you had, say, Half Life 2 on Steam already, you could just download the Mac version because you already have it on your account. I don't expect that to be the case, but it would be great.

That would be ideal. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I certainly don't expect it to be however. As far as DRM goes, Valve is at least one of the more tolerant ones.

I think it depends on how they're doing it. If they're using Cider or some other kind of virtualization to bring it over, then I think it's semi-likely that it'll work that way. If they legitimately ported the games, then I'd expect them to want to be compensated for the work.
