I think you can also write the idea on paper (print it out, whatever), then stamp, seal, and mail it to yourself. Seriously, it will have a government-issued date on it, and it's sealed, so it becomes a legal document or something like that.
I've heard of something like that, but does it hold up in court? Also, how would I send copies to other nations to secure it's legality there too?
