That's an interesting thought. Maybe it will be a DSi exclusive game. That would sure make me buy a DSi. I agree that 3d games on DS look really bad, but at least the cel-shaded ones look alright. It's one of the big turn-offs I get from the FF remakes.

No, that actually proves my point. They are ugly. Especially when contrasted with the fancy-shmancy CGI cutscenes.





Especially all that nasty pixelation in the in-game graphics. People are trying too hard to make realistic 3D graphics on the DS and I am not a big fan of them.

I like the concept of Nostalgia, but watching the trailer go from the anime cutscenes to the DS 3D graphics makes me cringe. Maybe I just think more games should be 2D on the DS.

The regular DS was more than capable of handling cel sahading of this caliber.  Anyone remember that DS Viewtiful Joe game? C'mon, it wasn't that bad.

Although the technical geek within me says that it's high time the DSi started to show that it was a worthwhile gaming system with its own library, I have to agree with Kashogi: releasing a niche game like this on a system with a lower userbase than the original DS could be a big mistake.

It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look great either.  There, you both win!  Or lose, I dunno.

As someone who's played a fair amount of PSP, it's sometimes hard to go back and look at the "high quality" graphics on DS and feel good about it.  Most of the time, the gameplay makes up for it, so it's not that big of a deal, but it's not unnoticeable either. 

IMO the best DS looking games are the ones that don't try to push realistic 3D graphics.  New SMB, for example, looks gorgeous.

3D on DS is pretty unimpressive, it generally looks like a low-quality PlayStation game. I was surprised at just how much more smooth Super Mario 64 looks on the Nintendo 64 over the DS. Mario Hoops is pretty blurry too.

DS looks better the PS if you have a developer that actually takes time and resources to develop the 3D. Compare FFIV to the pixelated crap known as FF7.
