Author Topic: Wii MotionPlus Totals 374k in June Sales (Read 9905 times)

With over 200,000 sales coming from the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 bundle, MotionPlus seems to be off to a good start in its inaugural month.

Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus has sold 374,000 units between the standalone version (169,000) and the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 bundle (205,000).

Both were released on June 8, and the Tiger Woods MotionPlus bundle was the seventh-best-selling game of the month. Virtua Tennis 2009 and Grand Slam Tennis also came out the same week and took advantage of MotionPlus.

Nintendo's first MotionPlus game, Wii Sports Resort, is slated for July 26 and will be bundled with the peripheral.

Buy more Tiger! I generally hate EA and their yearly releases but this is so worth it.

This is pretty damn good for the peripheral. The flagship game isn't even out yet it managed to sell a lot of units by its own. Hopefully this reaches numbers high enough that the rest of the games exclusively use MP.

Makes you wonder what the totals will be after Resort has been out a few weeks. Think it'll break a million M+ units before the end of Summer?

Oh yes definitely. I expect Wii Sports Resort to be an even bigger seller in North America than it was in Japan.

I was reading on Digg and some people were complaining about the M+ being sold out.

Yeah it was supposed to be on sale either June 8 or Jun 15. Tiger was originally set for release on the 15th but got moved up to the 8th, and I can't remember which date M+ shared with it.

But if you want two... buy Tiger and Wii Sports this weekend.

**** its this weekend already!? I was planning on going out and buying Rune Factory Frontier and Ghostbusters (Wii) TODAY. Then Punch-Out! Wii next before the end of the month..

I picked up Tiger Woods 10 last night and played it for a bit. It works as advertised, but god my golf swing sucks. Hoping to improve that. Seemed no matter what I did, even on tiny swings, I was having major problems with draw and fade.

Wanna know how I deal with draw and fade? Well good cause I was gonna tell you anyway,

Get into your stance, and pay attention inf your draw/fade marker is straight up or not.
If its tilted one way or another, slightly twist your body in the opposite direction till its straight.

If found out that helps alot when every shot seemed to be off.

Sounds like making adjustments for actions in real-life. Not sure if gamers are familiar with that territory.

He already was. I'm pretty sure he said that Zelda would use the M+ and wouldn't come out until he did find a good use for it in the game.
