I'm not sure how I feel about a rhythm game that has nothing but absolutely great songs. Aren't titles in this genre supposed to be made up of about 90% crap songs?

That's interesting considering how long before your time they were. I'd think most young'uns have never heard of them.
If you don't own some of The Beatles albums on vinyl records then you're not a true fan.

I my Dad has all of them on Vinyl. He grew up while they where together, he was littler but still. He does not let me touch them though! I have all but a few on CD so I can have them on my iPod.

If someone has never heard of The Beatles I will punch them in the face....

You don't get out much, do you?

Anyway, I don't know why everybody is treating this as if it isn't exactly the same game as all the other Rock Bands/Guitar Heroes. Except for the fact that this one focuses on the single most overrated band of all time, there is no difference between playing regular old Rock Band 2 and this.

Yes, I do listen to them. But most the time I just use my iPod because of convenience and I can't play them like right now because everyone is asleep.

Are you going to someday become a collector of all things The Beatles or are you just a fan of the music itself?

Beatles songs are so easy to play and sing along to in real life, that Beatles Rock Band is kinda pointless for me.  Check this out:

http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/The-Beatles-Complete-Easy-Guitar/2967356

All you need to do is learn a few simple chords and start strumming randomly to the chord progressions (reading the chord charts is the easiest thing in the world too, not like reading real music which is like a foreign language).  Sure it isn't an A1 version of the song, but it's functional if you remember the tune and can sing a bit.  You can do this competently with a few months of practice (and then if you want to step it up, get some Metallica tab books).

Tab books of music you like are the best way to learn guitar, I swear.

Yeah I don't follow the whole music scene so I don't know what the kids listen to these days. But since kids tend to treat anything that's more than a year old as utter garbage then I wouldn't have thought they'd be into something as old as The Beatles.

This is probably the first version of Guitar Hero/Rock Band which has some music in it I might actually like, much less have heard of.

Anyway, I'm not that excited about this game. I enjoy The Beatles music as much as the next guy (not counting Ned Flanders types..) but like Rize said, their songs aren't all that difficult. I'll probably pick the game up if i can ever finde it cheap/used, but i don't see myself playing it all that much. I don't have many friends who are into the Beatles and the real appeal of this game would be playing with a group, or at least one other player who you can harmonize with.

Oh and like Rize said, easiest way to learn to play guitar is get yourself a book of tabulature.

A class that listens to mediocre popular music which was only ever influential because it emerged right at the birth of mass media, which all but completely murdered worthwhile media of any form?
