Keep in mind they were just showing tech demos. Of course no one wants to pretend like they're part of a pit crew, changing a tire is a pain in the ass IRL, no need to simulate it. They're just showing the level of motion that can be used, since they're probably aren't any real games using this tech yet. The skateboarding demo = pretty awesome. Imagine a Spider-Man game - shoot the web by flicking your wrist, then grab with both hands and pull towards your body to swing.

I think Nintendo's bridge games won't transition people to traditional controllers, just more complex games. They'd still want to have peopel follow their brand of interaction.

That's what I'm saying, though. You can do more complex games with the same controller you do Wii Sports with, I'm not convinced you can do anything more complex than what they showed in the press conference with Natal.

It can capture your movement in 3D, so you could sit on a couch/chair, etc, and have the camera watch your feet for the imaginary gas/break pedals, or push your arms out to accelerate, and pull them back in to slow down. Keep one hand on the wheel to steer, and use the other to throw an item, in any direction. Using just your hands = extremely limited, using your entire body...not so much. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo and the Wii, and I'd love to find some shortfalls of this thing...but they've got some absolutely amazing technology on their hands with this thing.

Based on how it handled things when the guy tried to show the crowd the bottom of the avatar's shoe I don't know if it's precise enough to work based on motions as subtle as that. And I don't know if it would be able to sense the direction of the imaginary wheel if you only had one hand on it. Just look at the initial tech demos of the Wii, what became Wii Sports, they gave off a great impression of the capabilities of the hardware but no one was able to do motion controls that well again until Motion Plus came out. I'd love to see this thing work the way they make it seem, I'm just far from convinced that it does.

Just give it more than a 5 minute demo to make any decisions - also, his baggy jeans most likely were the cause of the problem with him showing his foot - that and the avatar was slowly rotating on screen, probably throwing him off a bit.

Like I said, I'd love for it to work and I'd definitely buy it if it did, especially considering there were only two games in that press conference I'll probably buy and neither one of them is a 360 exclusive so I'm looking for something to justify my 360 purchase, I'm just more skeptical about it than a lot of people seem to be.

Only if you're a woman

Before any cries of sexism, it's not my fault typical women would rather sit back and watch the men do it. My mom can change her own tires just fine.

So games will require a dress code?

I'm not saying it's hard to do, but it's usually not a pleasant experience, especially when you have stripped lugnuts, and your car is on the shoulder of I-95.

How did sony lose an exclusive?  Metal Gear Solid: Rising is not MGS4, it's a game staring Raiden without Snake.

Is it?  I think most people are assuming it's going to be the equivalent of Subsistence.  Take MGS4, port it to 360 and add on a small bonus mission (like Assignment Ada) that reuses assets from the main game.

Looks like a good line up of games, but nothing that has WOWED me.  Are we looking for that wow factor in E3 anymore, or are we just happy with a good lineup of games?

We want both, but MS leaked everything before hand, so even if they did have a MEGATON announcement, we would have known about it already.

Nintendo has only let two things slip so far, and that is WiiFit+ and the other thing isn't even solid (mario game).

Sony has let most(if not all) of their cat out the bag too. but some of the things we know about most likely aren't gonna be announced at E3 anyway, like PS3slim and possibly PSPGo.

I can't watch the MS conference LIVE since it ended several hours ago. I cant' watch Nintendo's live either because I have classes when they are doing theirs. Hopefully GT uploads them to iTunes since I would prefer to download them rather than streaming.

Depends what the boys at E3 are doing. The NWR twitter page usually has a feed of what new stuff that's put up on the site and occasionally a staff member makes a little note of what they are doing that's relevant to gaming.
