Actually Birdo has been sexless ever since 2005, though in Japan he is and has always been male. I'm not sure about Europe though because it's difficult to find solid information about that territory.

I completely forgot about my GameSpot account. That's a part of my past I've tried to get away from but I guess it's going to follow me wherever I go...

My GameStop account, my GameFAQs account, and even my YouTube account for some time, they all have one thing in common: they all contain a lie. I used to claim to be male because it seemed easier to get along with people on gaming forums, which are predominantly male (especially GameFAQs, my first forum). I never really saw the harm in it until I became more involved with these communities, but at that point it was a difficult thing to undo. Myron is my brother's name. I used it because I'm not very creative... but I like the name too.

Judge me if you want, I don't care. Ever since I've been here I've never lied by saying I'm male. I have moved away from that and learned from my mistakes. Birdo is actually a reminder to not lie about who I am.

I would have gone with a Ditto if I wanted to be truly ambiguous. Of course, that's clearly not the point of Birdo, as established... but still... Ditto would be perfect :p
