Just watched it again... noticed the Ferret on the bench, which is awesome.

Also, throwing the exploding bomb enemy was awesome as well.

I just realized this game is a total ripoff of Super Mario Bros 2. Once again, Miyamoto did it first.

Sure, you beat enemies by throwing them at each other, but the video doesn't show key SMB2 features such as hitching rides on your enemies' backs and picking vegetables to use as weapons.

The first part of the trailer rubbed me off the wrong way thanks to the music.

I suggest you watch and listen over and over until you realize how awesome that music is.

*barf*

I disagree. That music had me going 'WTF? Is this a fan made trailer?'

I do agree with Pale and that Tree scene is awesome. Makes me marvel at what would be possible with that. And how long can something be held until it has to be released? Long enough for his aim to be completed at least. Ugh, gotta make a super hero that can do that...

I sure hope the player can actually do things like that instead of having it restricted to cutscenes or canned combo animations (i.e. you don't get to decide yourself to pull of something like that).

>> Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
January teaser trailer

Ripped from Echoes of Time (Wii) movie data.  FMV quality is weak by Square standards.  Take a better look at this financial disaster once again.

FMVs look in engine with slightly improved character models, a la Infinite Undiscovery, so I don't think it's really fair to say it isn't up to Square's standards.

I like this pattern as it gets me closer and closer to my dream of having a glorious Square RPG where every piece of equipment is visible on every character, so their look actually changes throughout the game. :)

I actually think that this game could be really good. It seems to vary itself quite well.

Not quite the FMV I was hinting at.  The trailer is compressed, pre-recorded video.  That is FMV in itself.  It was 310MB of a 4GB DS port job, yet it lacks half the vertical resolution it could have, showing not even SE knows how to capture their own Wii videos properly.

Oh I see... I learned a long time ago to stop trying to understand your video quality/codec/compression mumbo jumbo. =P

Pale, I don't know if this helps because I can be wrong on the 4GB part, but:

it lacks half the vertical resolution

480i (It says so on the video specs underneath the respective loading video from his site)

It was 310MB of a 4GB DS port job

310MB is the file size the trailer had on the disc, MPEG I presume.
4GB DS port = Echoes of Time for Wii

OMG!!! I just ran across this trailer & now I'm am HYPED for this game.
Crystal Chronicles: The Force Unleash indeed. Its almost like Zelda meets Star Wars wrapped up into a pretty Final Fantasy
Based solely on the trailer, this is now my #1 purchase (after I pick up Madworld sometime this weekend) for the Wii this year.

...This is coming out this year right?

The scene with the tree was the icing on the cake and watching the guy toss the gun then catch the wind letting the train carry on without him was the cherry on top. It really looks like SE might have found the winner they were looking for here assuming they put a AAA team on this.

PS3 FF might not be the preffered style anymore ala RE4:WE vs RE5
I know they are two different types of jRPG (action vs turn based), but the action looks so fluid on CC with the use of the wiimote that the old style of playing FF might be looked down upon by those that have played the (hopefully) superior control style

then sixsidedvideo

Yours was the only one with clear video and smooth framerate. but it did take the longest to load :(

I can't have it all.

Not as clear as mine, nor as stable a framerate nor as CPU efficient.  Tho I increase the bitrate so the picture isn't smudged by Flash's excessive post-processing.
