How long until the Animal Liberation Front or PETA bombs the zoo to release these "endangered animals" into the world, and how long until we have proven all scientists wrong about the behaviors of dinosaurs because we successfully clone one?

I'm sure PETA and the Animal Liberation Jerks would be eaten by whatever animal they save.  In fact, letting them in to the wild could destroy the regular wildlife, so it'd be a generally bad move.
Also, being proven right/wrong would be the whole point.  Being wrong just gives you more to learn, and isn't that what science is all about?

If they have preserved skin, hair or bone marrow they can.
most likely from a dinosaur that was trapped in a tar pit, or an insect encased in resin (tree sap)

DNA lasts only 50,000 years or so, an eyeblink of evolutionary time, but genome engineers will eventually get so good at their job, one can surely assume, that they won’t need actual DNA; they will be able to calculate the DNA sequence of any known species by working backward from the genomes of their living descendants. Birds, for instance, evolved from dinosaurs. So put a few nips and tucks in a falcon’s genome and you could doubtless re-create that of a velociraptor. Let’s try resummoning these creatures from their rest in the fossil beds of extinction:
