Eh. Was never a fan of the original Star Trek. I've tried to get into on occasion and have watched some episodes but I just can't get into it. Next Generation is the best of all Star Trek to me.

That said, I was interested in this movie. The teaser trailer was nice. But this trailer ruins any expectations I had for it. Even not being a fan of the original series I can tell that this movie is contrary to the characters of the original and goes against the ideas of that series and really all of Star Trek as a whole.

Star Trek died when Gene Roddenberry died. It's slowly corroded away ever since.

BEST TRAILER EVER!

It has Harold, Shaun, and some hot black chick who's also in the movie "Avatar". How could this be bad? (Though Simon Pegg is hilarious....You should watch "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People."

I've never seen Star Trek. I hadn't even seen The Empire Strikes Back till last year, so you know Sci-Fi ain't my thing (though I did like this movie that now is a horrible series.......Star Gate). Truthfully that trailer was terrible. I couldn't help think of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVuxvJVdZQc

Hilarious.

That trailer wasn't any good but everything I've heard and read from everybody that's seen the movie has been positive so I'm still excited for it.

Star Trek died when Gene Roddenberry died. It's slowly corroded away ever since.

Deep Space Nine occuring almost entirely after Roddenberry's death shows how ridiculous this statement is.

Hate to say it but I think Star Trek:TNG flourished, IMO, when Gene gave up most control. The first two seasons of TNG had Gene's fingerprints all over it (well the first season definitely did, while the second had a writers strike) and TOS style didn't fit anymore. He was great for the original but that style had to be modernized which started occurring in Season 3 of TNG.

I think The Next Generation is very overrated. Yes, at least half the top 10 best Trek episodes come from TNG but for every great one there's like half a doxzen mediocre ones. I would definitely say that DS9 is the best Trek series (and in my opinion the best telvevision drama period).

(though I did like this movie that now is a horrible series.......Star Gate).

Stargate is going the same way as Star Trek. It's been on air continuously since 1997 and needs a break. The potential of the series is literally overflowing with ideas yet it all got so formulaic. When they break out of it (like the episode about everyone's DAY OFF) it got really good again. And now the same writers from Atlantis and SG1 are writing the new series. WTF.

DS9 did something that all the others (Enterprise included) didn't do; a tightly planned storyline. It made it more difficult to jump into, but made it more rewarding for sticking with it.

Enterprise season three was very good.

Enterprise got better as it went along. Season 2 was better than the first and 3 was even better. Season 4 was unbelievably good, it really is a shame that it got canceled when it did.

I think the best series of Star Trek was Deep Space 9, it took awhile to get going the first season especially was weak, but the series became very strong and towards the end, I believed it was better than Next Generation.

Enterprise got really good in season 4, which is sadly when it got canceled. :(

I think TNG and DS9, for me, are pretty equal. They are so different from each other that I can find stuff to really love about both.

I'm currently in the middle of watching Voyager via Netflix and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

Also, Star Trek Enterprise: The Romulan War novel coming in October, and based off the last couple Enterprise novels I'm more excited about that than the new movie.
