I have one question: If I were to spout things about another person in order to win an election, and those things riled up my supporters to a point where they are yelling out "KILL HIM" and "TERRORIST" like an angry mob, do I have a moral responsibility to stop them?

I know politics is a dirty game, but where do you draw the line? If that candidate were killed because of what you said and what you did indirectly, should you be held accountable?

No. There is no such thing as moral responsibility and you cant expect it.

I know politics is a dirty game, but where do you draw the line? If that candidate were killed because of what you said and what you did indirectly, should you be held accountable?

No. That's crazy. If you feel guilty you could call out these extremists for who they are on TV or something. But your not somehow responsible for other people's actions.  (that some stupid **** soccer mom's would come up with. Weird fear tactic thing) Ya what you said shot some sparks, but by holding someone accountable you don't mean like, jail or something do you?

Every freaking politicians have their crazy supporters. Remember that the supporters are there to endorse the politician's views, the politician doesn't have to endorse their supporters views.

It could be that supporters view on how to handle an issue that is different enough to set him off so extremely.

If I say multiple things that don't directly say your mother is witch, but that's the point I'm trying to get across and even the dumbest person can figure it out, do I have a some responsibility when say.......somebody burns her at the stake?

No because people are still responsible for their actions. Now if the person basically provoked them to burn her at the stake, then that is another story. But "hinting" at something while not preaching violence may be "wrong" but far from making that person responsible for someone taking it to the extreme.

I understand that, but if the person has power and uses it to persuade people to hate someone; when that person is ultimately killed, why can't you look at what might have caused their death?

I understand there are crazy people and it's unfair to transfer blame, but isn't it wrong when you deliberately persuade crazy people? It's like raising horribly violent dogs. Sure, you didn't gnaw that little girl's face, but you sure as hell had something to do with it.

I have another question: If I were to pal around with an individual who was involved with leading a group of radical activists to the point where they are bombing buildings and killing people, do I have a moral responsibility to denounce this individual?

Yeah, see this could be about Moral Responsibility, but anyone keeping up on the election totally knows what this is about. While it may not be overtly political, it certainly is subtly. Look guys, seriously, no more political threads. I understand that you want to talk about it, but it is very clearly against our rules.
