I have no idea what happened in that trailer, but it was awesome.

You just described the entire first game.

I have no idea what happened in that GAME, but it was awesome.

Loads of awesome. I almost beat it on the n64 but for whatever reason i didnt and had to give t he game back to my friend who borrowed it. I really wanna get back into this to prepare myself for the sequel, hence the avatar change.

The sequel looks freakin epic man..

Looks like it will be a great game and it will be nice to play it with the Wiimote, something I felt the first one would have benefited greatly from (Still a great game though). So thank you Treasure and Nintendo!

I've never played Sin & Punishment.  It looks like the game play is somewhat akin to star fox.  true?

somewhat being the key word. Its an on-rails shooter  yes, but the pacing is different. In star fox you were almost always moving forward with enemies speeding past you, the ones that you missed anyway. There were occasional bosses, like the first boss in both the SNES and N64 SF games, that made it feel like you weren't speeding by...

In S&P though there are a lot of segments where you're forced to stop and take out enemies to progress. Compared to the forced movement sections, you're doing a lot more maneuvering (IMO). The running sections.. you can pretty much get away with just strafing out of enemy fire and the occasional jump. When yous top though there are more concentrated forces working against you; more enemy fire, enemies jumping up close to use melee attacks against you, etc.

Also note that  your maneuvering is limited than in star fox, so it doesn't feel as fast paced some times.

you should. I forgot theres a bit of co-op in this too so if you have a brother/sister/friend that you can play it with, one of you can control the movement the other controls the aiming.

what? S&P 1 has coop!? I had no idea! unless you mean two person holding the same controller which is lame.

I didn't like the trailer that much honestly, for some reason it isn't as visually appealing as the first one, the color pallete is too bland and the flying looks forced, mabe some animation would help in that regard, the character is just floating there freezed not doing anything, there's no reason for him to be floating! even a jetpack would do

This made me go back to the VC version and after doing the training I finally could get pass the first boss, of course I don't understand at all what the hell is happening with the story and characters.

You just answered your own complaint, yes?  Sin & Punishment doesn't make sense, and the sequel should do everything in its power to do the same!  :tpg:

That's a little longer wait than I was hoping for.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

So hey guys how would you all compare this to Star Fox? I'm really liking the play style of this game, do you think it will hold me until Star Fox is revived on The Nintendo IUH?

It should as it seems to be more hectic and wild than the original S&P from the videos, and the faster pace gives it an even stronger Star Fox vibe. If the characters mobility (when not in those jetpack things anyway..) in this game is anything like the original though, don't expect the same type of manauverability you'd get in Star Fox though.

Caterkiller, if anything i'd suggest you pick up S&P on the wii's VC so you can compare yourself.

I just noticed most of the E3 trailer content was lifted straight out of the previous teaser trailer.

Nintendo, you're terrible at this whole E3 thing.

I have the first game on my virtual console account and it is very fast paced and hard to get into because of its difficulty. I am still debating on whether to buy the sequel. It has good graphics, but I am still unsure.
