I need some help with Mr. Sandman my first time through. Any tips?
Nevermind beat him.

The best way to kick his ass is be aggressive.  I found him easier than Super Macho Man and Soda Popinski.

Thanks for the help DAaaMan64 but I already beat him.:)
Has anybody beat Title Defense mode? I have a question about Last Stand Mode.Is there a limit to how many times you can lose?Someone is wondering if once you lose 3 times if that is it and can't play Last Stand mode anymore.

I had to start this game over after my Wii got back from the repair shop.  I got all the way to Super Macho Man in just under an hour and lost to him because I forgot about his super punch technique.  Oh well, 10-1 ain't a bad start.  Back to conquering the exhibition challenges and finding out what secrets the Title Defense mode has cooked up for me.

So i'm still playin the original Punch Out on Wii's virtual console and i'm still digging it, even if i keep getting my ass handed to me.

After a few weeks without playing it, i got back into the game yesterday and spent a couple of hours on it and finally managed to take down Bald Bull for the second title. I'd only faced him a handful of times because i'd normally end up getting frustrated that i couldnt take down Great Tiger even though i knew his freaking patters by heart. So whenever i would get up to Bald Bull i'd be all nervous and think "oh man, i finally made it this far again, i can't **** up" and down i go.. lol. But i beat him!

Too bad it took so long to do that i forgot what Piston Honda was like, so he kicked my ass plenty the second time around. I finally nailed him and moved on to Soda Popinski and thought i was doing well, but he got a couple of those uppercuts on me and took me down. After 3 or so attempts (on him) i decided to call it a night. The more i play this though, the more eager i am to get Punch Out Wii.. damn i need more time/money!

Yo, I have unexpectedly played a ton of the Mutli. I love it. Very strategic, a chess match of the mind with a good friend.

Also lots of yelling.

Halfway through TD mode.  Up against The Great Tiger and his mutli colored jewel memorization punches.

This was quite hilarious to observe with my partially colorblind friend playing.  He was getting so frustrated because he couldn't tell the difference between the blue and white flashes.  He thought he was just having to dodge on reaction.  It wasn't until I pointed out the white means duck gem flash that he said, "Wait, the gem is flashing white?"  For the rest of the match, I had to call out "left, right, or duck".  It was a cake walk after that.

So I got something cool in the mail today..

Its a coupon for $10 off this game! At first I thought it was from best buy, and thought it was odd they had my name and address... but turns out its an offer from NOA, even cooler! Did anyone else receive one of these?

This might just be the incentive I need to pick this game up sooner than later.. its valid till the end from july 1st to the end of the month, so I got time. (My guess is NOA sent these out to My Nintendo club members who hadn't registered Punch Out before the start of their new points year, which is tomorrow isn't it? Sneaky bastards...)

I got something similar, but a bit different.  Mine was in cooperation with Amazon, not Best Buy, and it's only good for $5 off.

Probably not.  Yours is $10 off $49.99, plus tax.  Mine is $5 off $46.99, no tax.  In either of our states, mine's better.  ;D

Soda Popinski is easy, just dodge that huge uppercut and follow through with some face punches. Super Macho Man will kill you though...and Sandman...and Tyson (punch him when he blinks for stars...he can only be knocked down with star punches).

Soda Popinski is easy to read, its just by the time i get to him i'm so aggrivated at the game that my frustration messes with my concentration and i make stupid mistakes i wouldn't of made otherwise. The same thing happened with Great Tiger and the secound bout against Piston Honda;

I knew their patterns but i'd make one mistake that'd throw me off, lose, start over frustrated and it'd happen over and over again.

Still hate Soda's Ganon-laugh

Ok, so now Mr. Sandman has got me beat. I've dealt with Piston Honda enough now to figure out how to beat him in the first round, so i breeze right thru him. Soda Popinski isn't so bad when i'm NOT trying to figure out how to get stars off him. If i just doge and throw my uppercuts i'll usually get a TKO in the second round, good enough for me!

Then I gotta fight Bald Bull again, and at first i had some trouble cuz i forgot his pattern, but once i remembered it he's a peice o' cake. So easy to get stars off him and knock him down once or twice without him even having to do his charge attack.

To my surprise, Don Flamenco kicked my ass lol... I know i should be very embarrassed by that, and i am. Its just the second time you fight him he moves a lil quicker (from what i remember) and somehow mess up my doges. I'll usually dodge too early and Lil' Mac will slide back to the center just as Don is punching, ugh! Once i decided to be patient with him (soooo annoying) i took him down, no problem.

Then Comes Sandman.. i think i faired well the first time around. I made it to the second round and i was doging his punches fairly easily, minus the 3 quick uppercuts. In the rematch i got slaughtered though, i dunno what happened. He seems simple enough, as long as i figure out how to (successfuly) dodge those 3 uppercuts...

I finally beat TD Bald Bull today.  I first round TKO with 2 seconds left on the clock.  This was after 3 days of trying to figure his patterns and timing out.  The things that make him tough are:

-Having to knock him down with a star punch.  This puts extra pressure on me not to get hit, thus losing my stars.
-Nailing him during a bull charge.  I see the timing of it, after he snorts, but I still only land it about 6 out of 10 tries
-Getting the timing on the delayed jabs.  Even worse is hitting the small window to get a star out of it.

I tried out Super Macho Man in Exhibition mode and was able to get a TKO after only two or three tries.  Of course, when you're not taking any damage, things are always easier.  :)

Nice bosshogx! I'm currently stuck on Bald Bull myself and haven't been motivated enough to try and figure out his pattern well enough to beat him. I may go back soon though and start trying again since it's really bothering me that I got so close to beating the game but didn't accomplish the task.

If you are a club Nintendo member get ready to get a special downloadable fight with Doc.

I am only at Aran Ryan (he's beating the stuffing out of me) but I wish I was a club member so I could beat the chocolate bars out of Doc.  I like him but sometimes he just needs a beating when he says something like. "What's your favorite flower?  Mine's chocolate."  SMACK
