Once i left NWS, my girlfriend and I went to some street fair we noticed on the way TO the NWS. There were alot of the same types of tents selling thigns like sunglasses, clothes, jewelry, etc. But this one had something completely different..

Made me think of Okami and how i really need to play that game again.. or rather, start playing it again.

Having the balance board would require me to buy Wii Fit so no, I don't have one. I will likely start out NES style but will try out the other control options.

If Nintendo just sticks close to formulas that people love then we would just get Mega Man style cookie cutter sequels. The Lost Levels would be the norm for Nintendo sequels instead of the exception. Nintendo has traditionally been the company that raises the bar with their sequels. They're the guys that either stuff each sequel with tons of new content or try some different things out and change things around while still retaining the basic feel of the series. Only one new character and gameplay practically lifted from the NES game? That is lazy. Any moderately competent dev with a decent budget and realistic release deadline can do that. With Nintendo I expect more. That's what makes Nintendo sequels special.

If it was just More Super Punch-Out with 3D graphics and optional waggle I would also be disappointed even though that's the style I prefer. It should have a good mix of familiar and new characters and should change things around a bit. Like how the other two console Punch-Outs are similar but different from each other so too should this game be similar but different from them.

Wasn't able to find the game today. I guess Canada is getting it a few days later like normal. I should expect it yet it bums me out every time because then I'm always behind and any discussion about the game is full of spoilers from people who have had a good couple extra days to get further.

Yeah it is quite ridiculous... although I guess this explains why he uses a boxing glove as a bat in Mario Super Sluggers. He was fine-tuning his punches in preparation for this.

*facepalm* It's Victoria day. Everyone is closed, so it's most likely that you will be able to get the game tomorrow.

Well when I get home tonight I'll finally get to play it. I can't wait, it sounds like the best game for Wii in quite awhile (not to mention one of the best games period in 2009). Sounds like a fantastic successor to Punch-Out!! with both old and new. CANNOT WAIT!

I have to go back and play some more of the NES Punch Out, but when (if) i beat it, i probably won't go back to it.

Yeah it is Rize. Depnding on what type of controls you have it can be fairly challenging to really hard.

I played with the Balance board and that control setup is the hardest. I tried Wiimote/Nunchuck and that is a bit easier than the balance board but still challenging. I would imagine that the NES controls is the easiest. This game is great. The Music is great. The different fighters pose a nice change of pace each fight.I recommend this title to everyone.

I managed to get to Great Tiger and wow does he scare me. I thought I'd do fine with him since I can EASILY get by him in Punch-Out!! but he plays with my mind so much! To anyone that thinks this game was going to be easy, think again, I can't imagine what the Title Defense mode is like! If you like Punch-Out!! you will love this game, so much personality, high production values, challenging, great sound (I love how they mix in the classic sound effects), and above all else it is a blast to play. So far I think it is the BEST, yes the BEST, Punch-Out!! game.

Next-Level and Nintendo should be proud with the final product, and with the somewhat lackluster reception the new Bionic Commando game is getting, it seems to reinforce Nintendo's stance on keeping the game, in gameplay mechanics, as close to the original as possible while still creating a great title for a new generation.

I bet Super Punch Out!! is still the best, but this'll be better than the forever overrated Mike Tyson's Garbage Time!! This still needs to get a Aussie release date, I can't be bothered importing.
