I was shocked that there wasn't an official review of that "fumble" by the head referee. For such a game ending play I would have thought it would have gotten an in depth review.

Same here, its a silly rule, but it was technically "forward progress".  Just like Tom Brady got at the end of the AFC championship game V the Raiders a few years ago.  In all likelihood, they've wouldn't have scored with 5 seconds left, but they still should have been given the chance.

If it had been reversed then the personal foul on the Steeler player who took off his helmet would have pushed the ball to about the Steeler 30 yard line. Warner would throw up a jump ball in the end zone and having Larry Fitzgerald would increase the odds of that working by quite a bit. I don't think it should have been reversed though, I think it was a fumble, and that's coming from me, someone who would not be opposed to a nuclear first strike against the city of Pittsburgh.

That was a fantastic game.

It was an above-average game with an unbelievably great 4th quarter.

I'd say the first and last quarters were great.

You can't review/challenge a play in the last two minutes of a half.

The coaches can't, but it is the refs responsibility to review any close calls in the final 2 minutes.  The simple fact is this, they dropped the ball on this one.  They didn't rob the Cardinals of winning the super bowl, but they did rob them the opportunity to win it with one last play.

Agreed. For being such a controversial play, they didn't even think to review it.  That's what pissed me off......and losing my bet of course.

Anyone find that they've been playing Madden MORE now that the season is over?  I just can't get into the NBA or MLB.

Since football season ended I've been focused on hockey, especially since my Flyers are a lot better of a team than the Browns.

It's all about the MADNESS.

My team (Purdue) is in the sweet 16! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA It's been so long since they were any good. Now they face UCONN. It's going to be a hell of a game.

Meh.  I just watch the last 5 min of any close game.  If decent, but its not football.  There's been talk at this year's meeting of extending the season to 18 games, that would be SWEET!!

Back to NCAA though, I got 14/16 correct for the Sweet Sixteen.

SUPER BEARS SUPER BOWL SUPER BEARS SUPER BOWL!

That's right, by nothing short of a miracle, we got Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton and a few picks we would have surely wasted anyway.  This will go down as one of the biggest blunders in NFL history.  First Denver fires their hall of fame coach, and now they chase away their best QB since Elway.  Oh the humanity.

I hope Orton does well though, at least I can still root for him as I live in Denver.

My friend called me when it happened and said he's not a Broncos fan anymore. As a Browns fan, even one who wasn't alive for The Drive and The Fumble, I can't say this disappoints me, especially since I was afraid they'd trade away Quinn in a deal for Cutler and not even get Cutler.

Yeah, I've been watching a few of the blogs here in Denver and they're all filled with comments like that.  Or people outright switching to becoming Bears fans.  In a way I can't blame em, as the only reason I watched Denver these last two years was Cutler, he keeps things interesting.

And I don't blame you for wanting to keep Quinn, I see a lot of potential in that guy.

Yeah, he said he's a Bears fan now but I don't expect that to last. I was mainly concerned about the proposed deals that involved Quinn going to Denver, Cutler to Detroit and picks to the Browns. I think Cutler's got a great future but Derek Anderson's best days are behind him.
