I read on GoNintendo...which stole the story from elsewhere that Activision is already deleting user created songs that might get them in trouble.

Mario and Zelda themes are being deleted as well as other Nintendo franchise games.  I must say I am saddened by this activity, because I wanted to download some great user created video game tunes.

I guess that means, I will have to be watching the GH Tunes carefully when the songs are reloaded again by different users and under different names...

Or you can just find an online GH community that archives game saves that you can download unto your sd card for their custom tracks. I heard thats possible to do anyway...

I have a Mario theme, as well as Brinstar from Metroid. They're awesome. I also downloaded the Gerudo Valley theme (Ocarina of Time), but it's not the full thing, which is a shame, because IMO that's the best original music (non-orchestra) in a game, EVAR! I always play it on my guitar...I wanna play it on a plastic guitar too.

I noticed the drum kit works better over time, the previously unresponsive pads have been 'broken in'.

And then the red pad went unresponsive out of nowhere :\

Thats strange. I'll have to get in some more play time to see if that happens to me. Like i said in my last post, it isn't a game breaker since it only won't register the lighter taps (which other pads do) but i still went ahead and ordered me that MIDI cable from activision so i can fine tune it.

I'm sad, but I think I'm going to have to sell my band bundle because I'm po'. :( I've been waiting for this for like ever, but they're going for a decent amount on ebay right now... Plus, I still have Rock Band, el Gimpo McGee edition, and the instruments will work for RB2 when it comes out.

GUYS, IF YOU LIKE MONEY, DON'T GET DIVORCED, K?

AND ACTIVISION, IF YOU LIKE MY MONEY, FIND A WAY TO MAKE RB DRUMS COMPATIBLE FOR ALL PLATFORMS, NOT JUST PS360.

I'm just mad. In no section of my mind can I figure out why they couldn't put a little patch in to make the RB instruments work like in the 360 (and soon to be PS3, if it's not already) version. I'm dumbfounded, it makes no sense. And don't give me the lame-o "but it's has teh weemootes in themz!!!" excuse, Activision or Harmonix or whoever, cuz that's seriously weak. Same functionality, regardless of hardware. It's not like I'm asking to use the RB Wii drums on GHWT 360.

When companies think of ways to make money, they don't think of ways to make money for people that arent themselves. Before you think i'm disagreeing with your point..

Those same companies are too stupid to realize that including an option such as making those stupid plastic instruments interchangeable between games might make them more money because a customer thats a fan of Rythm Game X might just be inclined to purchase Rythm Game Z just because they already have whats needed to play the game. But no, greed is blinding.

and i wont be checking out your emo video, pfft.
still sorry though

Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time...

See, I think they'd actually make MORE money over time... as it is, if I sell I won't be contributing to the GHWT brand at all... but if they'd allow cross-compatibility, I'd for sure buy the game. edit: Yes, exactly what you said. :P

P.S. - EasyCure, if anyone would've checked out that emo video, I thought for sure it'd be you. (is that joke dead yet?) ;)

They're totally closing the market off. It's going to hurt them in the long run. Acutally I think two years from now the market for plastic music games will all but dry up because of compatibility issues. The prices are going to go up if you want to keep up and they'll make it so you have to keep up in order to enjoy the full game. It may happen next year with rock band if they add on cymbals or whatever. $$$ yes.
Then the next generation of consoles will officially put in the death nail on the idea when you can't transfer the $500 worth of DLC you've acquired from your last system to your next system. Your disc will work. But you'll have to buy new instruments cause those old ones are compatible. I'm waiting for it.

There are optional expansion cymbals for rock band 2. And this already happened with the PS2 guitar hero. Rock Band on PS platforms work for PS2 and PS3, since Rock Band instruments are USB they can somehow squeeze in compatibility somehow.

They can, but doesn't mean they will. Guitar hero PS2 had two guitars. That's it. Now we have three competeting games. Each with their own drums guitars and microphones. There's no guarantee of anything. and the DLC won't work. It won't. There's no benefit in making it work.

I opened up the drum set myself to have a look and found a pretty crappy glue/solder job for the drum sensors. Actually, the wire pretty much came off in my hand immediately when I poked at it.

The solution? Strip a little of the wire insulation off so it gets a good contact and tape it back on with electrical tape (or solder it if you want, but **** effort). And now it works amazingly. I'm going to see if I can apply a similar fix for the cymbals.

If you're not too much of a big baby to do this, there aren't any seals or anything you break to get in there (it's just a bunch of screws) so if you epic fail you would probably still be able to switch it.

Wrong, PS2 has Guitars from GH1,2,3/Aerosmith, WT, Rockband 1 and Rockband 2 (*note Rockband 1 and 2 instruments on PS platforms are compatible with PS2 and PS3).

Umm Ty to fix it all you need is a thin piece of masking tape or any kind of tape, if you want it to be super sensitive use one strip of tape horizontally that covers the censor fully, if you want a "just right" sensitivity put the masking tape on the censor horizontally where it only cover about half of the censor. There's a youtube video I posted and here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhF5noVUBN8.

Just get the free midi to USB, and fix it properly. Also, grab a soldering iron (and some solder) and fix that loose wire...everyone should have a soldering iron.

That's great but that's actually not the problem I was having with my sensor; the wire was actually coming loose from the contact. Huuurrrff.

But yeah that's what I'm going to do with the cymbals.

No way am I going to wait like three weeks when I could do an awesome job of fixing it myself. And I already fixed my loose wire.

With all these loose wires and crappy wiring issues I can't wait till everybody will start bitching at Activision for the Midi software + midi to USB wire solution not working.

So I redid all my pads, and it is awesome. It works like a real Drummania machine! Now if only if it was usb so I could actually use it with Drummania :S

It's silly to send your kit back to Activision when it's such an easy do-it-yourself.
