thats what i thought you meant Ty, and i thought i had the same issue but i remembered what happened and clarified it as being a sound issue. The only time a hit wouldnt register for me was when i'd have to hit the 'cymbol' and the 'snare' at the same time (red + yellow) and with practice i realized my timing was off.

I practiced on Everlong, where theres alot of yellow notes and a few reds you're supposed to hit at once. The yellows would show as being hit but the reds wouldnt, and because i couldnt hear the drum hit i assumed it wasnt responding. Yet when i'd only hit the red notes, it would visually show i made contact. Turns out my timing just sucked trying to hit red WITH the yellow.

I could swear that my limited time behind a real drum set was easier :(

Everlong would be a lot easier to play (for the majority of the population...known as right-handed people) if they substituted the green blue button for the snare on that song. I like it better in Rock Band because they make red the cymbal, and yellow the snare. Oh well...I don't even have the GHWT drums yet. I think I'll try to sell my RockBand instruments to my brother and buy the full band game...and then sell him the game too, since I already have just the game. My friend has the drums and said they work pretty well, it's probably hit or miss with the issues (literally and figuratively)some are having.

You may want to hold off on the GHWT instruments because people are having issues amongst all platforms.  With the guitar people are having issues with the slider, strum bar. With the drums people are having issues with some of the drum pads on the main body, cymbals, and even some of the band bundle kits have the cymbals missing!

well i taught my self how to play the intro of Everlong on a real set at a friends house, and the hi-hat he had was set up similar it is to this set; the hi-hat left and over the snare, so playing it that way was natural. I cant imagine having to hit the blue or green drum pads instead of the red.

So am I the only person here who couldn't find it.  Damn thing sold out on Sunday morning while I was at church!  They have the Xbox 360 version but NOT the Wii one, which I guess makes sense.

Something I failed to take into account is that I live in Abbotsford now while for years I lived in Langley which has a much better selection of stores.  I tried to go around town and hit all the likely stores but there's hardly anywhere to go!  D'oh!  Meanwhile this morning Langley's Best Buy had them according to their site.  Arrrgh!

My hope is Superstore which is where I got my Wii.  No one thinks to ever go there and it's less than five minutes from my house.  They didn't get any of the bundles yet, just the game.  So I'm hoping they'll get them in soon.  It's funny because the guy who works there wants the game as well.  He saw me today and was just as frustrated as I was.

What sucks if I have this week off of work.  I didn't time my vacation for Guitar Hero - it's just a fluke - but I was hoping to play it while I had all this free time.  With my luck I won't find until Sunday.

I haven't had any problems with my drums or guitar as of yet. I am having all kinds of fun. I also haven't noticed any framerate drops or anything. I think the drum layout for this is a trillion times better than the layout of rock band. Just having the raised cymbals makes it more fun. It's not so much about difficulty, it's more about being able to play it more naturally. In rock band the drums change their notes at times depending on what it needs to be, not that big a deal overall but I like this system much more. Also, the easy note charting on drums is awesome. Nothing is worse than easy charting that puts you to sleep. Once you get past the first group of sets you start to feel more active.

I forgot to look for it Sunday, and I didn't get to look around until after 7 yesterday.  I could find the game, but not the full kit, but I didn't check many places before giving up.  I have a feeling this is going to be the thing people line up outside stores in the cold for this winter.

No offense GP but your views are bias, as your myspace page proves ;)

Seriously though, you shoulda prepordered Ian, or just had a better plan! If you seriously want the game, wake up early and get to a store @ opening or something, if not.. well, i wish ya luck cuz you're missin out on some fun.

I played more last night (2 days of gaming in a row, new record!) and it just gets more and more fun. I tried my hand at guitar and vocals... lol i failed horribly. I couldnt concentrate on both dammit. Maybe i should of tried vocals on easy or something but i doubt it would help; I always had a problem singing and keeping a rythm on my guitar. Doing both in GH is just re-learning everything since i cant strum or fret as naturaly.

Oh and i'd just like to confirm, still no problems with my instruments.

I went thru the tuturials for the music maker but didnt mess around with it, it started getting a lil too late for me. I plan on messing around a lil more tonight and definately composing something this weekend, most likey sunday. I'll find a way to share it (if its good enough) with the lot of you, even if i have to put up a losery youtube video.

Oh i'd also like to mention that playing online was a breeze. I found a random match very fast and luckily the guy i was up against had similar taste in music so i was familiar with the songs he picked. Needless to say, we were pretty evenly matched so it was some tense match-ups trying to stay in the lead and squeeze every point out of those notes. Awesome fun! I was never able to find a random opponent on GH3 as easily, so i can definately say its an improvement.. especially since you can log into WFC at the start of the game and stay on no matter what you do in the game.

I'm really happy with this purchase minus the KFC and Coca Cola product placement....

If you guys are having issues with the cymbals there is actually an easy fix for the sensitivity all you need is some masking tape and a phillips head screw driver.

Here's the video to how to fix it

I have it sitting in my apartment, unopened.

I'm amazed that I can't find anywhere whether the RB1 drums (for Wii) are compatible. You'd think someone, somewhere would've tried it by now...

It'll stay unopened until I find out whether the RB1 Wii drums are compatible or not. :(

I have half a mind to go and rent GHWT and try it out that way myself... But I think the Internet should have the answer for me if I just look for it in the right spot...

Or........................................PREORDER

Pre-ordering is for suckers who want to pay higher prices at Gamestop/EB.  I checked with EB and they haven't even filled their pre-orders yet so a hell lot of good that would have done.

Honestly though, aside from getting a console itself at launch, I've never HAD to pre-order before.  I can always just waltz in and get the game.  Or at least I could before I moved to "we only have three stores that carry videogames" Abbotsford.

Henc why you skip church, find the game, go home, rock out with your c-ck out and impregnate women merely by dancing to rock n roll tunes with them, and whatever else is inherently evil.

Why do people still preorder from brick and mortar gamestop, they intentionally choke supplies to the bare minimum. Just preorder from online stores like amazon or hell gamestop.com, you don't need to put down a deposit and you don't have to waste gas finding out that the store didn't fill your preorder or going to 10 different stores trying to hunt down a copy.

From my experience if I was forced to preorder at a brick and mortar store I'd go to a bigger store like toys r us or bestbuy where they usually get a lot of copies of stuff instead of just like 1 - 10 copies.

You realize that neither of these would have helped Ian in this case, right?  A preorder from Amazon wouldn't have been delivered yet, and Ian said he went to all the stores in his town and they're sold out everywhere.

Shipping costs can be quite high and places like Amazon charge sales tax on top of that. Not to mention the delay in shipping.

Amazon's shipping is free in most cases (if you're willing to wait a week or two for delivery) and they don't charge sales tax for most states.  However, since Ian lives in Canada it's all a moot point.

Yeah it is really slow though.

4 days is the longest I've had to wait.  The last DVD I ordered (Frankenstein vs. Baragon) got here in 2 business days.

their shipping is perfectly okay in my book.

Yeah but I don't need to pay shipping costs AND I can pick it up on launch day. So there is no reason to order it on Amazon unless their price is less than Gamestop and my opportunity cost in regards to when I want the item is matched.
