I totally don't understand how star power works now.  I seem to have it almost constantly, and I can use it and then immediately use it again when it runs out.  Weird.

Also, the Mii freestyle mode is surprisingly fun.

Yeah, they definately toned down the difficulty level. You can now get star power during star power. wtferz.

Just did some research... apparently it now works differently in multiplayer: everybody shares the same pool of star power, but when you activate it, instead of just draining it until you run out, it uses up one bulb and stops.  That only affects your instrument's multiplier, but you can multiply the full band's multiplier by having multiple people activate at the same time.  But in single-player it works the same as the previous games (except you can get star power during star power).

Also, it seems that you do need a Wii remote just for the vocals, which is really lame and annoying.

You need one in Rock Band also, just like you need a controller for the other versions of the game, how else would you select your difficulty...or your song?

Also, you can keep collecting Star Power, and extend it, just like in Rock Band, now.

Yeah, but in Rock Band, the other instruments don't depend on Wiimotes, so one is all you need.  I only have two Wiimotes, so if I want to play with a full band, I have to pay another $80 in addition to what I already spent on the game.

Yeah, that is actually ridiculous, however the wireless controllers are nice. They should be a lot cheaper on Wii.

I'm having an issue with the hihat pad not being sensitive enough. Like you really need to bang on it. Any one having a similar issue?

From what I've read, the game's drums have sensitivity settings that can be adjusted and updated to their firmware.  For the PS3 and 360 versions, the drums will be able to connect to a program Activision is going to release soon on their website.  For the Wii version, I haven't heard anything.

Makes me glad I just bought the game, and didn't go for the full-size bundle right now.

Why is that? The Wiimote probably has better technology than the 360 or PS3 controller.

I'm still trying to decide if it's worth trading in one of my guitars and buying the band kit or just getting the game and a mic and just waiting for the drums.  Right now, I only have 2 Wiimotes, so that could be problematic.

I've only played a couple of songs on drums so far, but I haven't had that issue.  I have had trouble with the "accent" notes that you can hit harder to get extra points, though.  I don't think I've been able to do that successfully once, or if I did, there wasn't any indication of it.

And now the Wii review is on IGN, and it's (according to them) better than the PS3/360 version. It got a 7.9 on the other 2 systems, and an 8.8 on the Wii. When comparing game to game, I still think the 360 version is better, but when you compare the game to the other options on the respective systems, I completely agree with the scoring.

Little things like the framerate, and the fact that it doesn't need friend codes, or 4 Wiimotes. If you add in the extra Wiimotes needed for multiplayer, the "full" Wii version costs about $120 more than the others.

I think the drum issue i was having wasnt an issue at all.

one of my speakers isnt working properly so when i unplugged it and played the sound thru the tv (boo, mono sucks!) i was able to hear my drum hits w/o pounding on them.

For some reason i thought that hitting the pads/cymbals at any time produces an on screen indication that something was hit (like when you hold down a fret, the fret on screen shows its held) but i realized you'll only see any on screen indication when you hit a pad/cymbal in time with a jeweled note. So even though i thought i had to pound away to get a response, it turns out i just couldnt hear the hits due to a bad speaker and no on screen indicator that something was hit. I tested it in practice mode, where you can turn down the guitar/bass/vocals and only hear the bass track as you play it (notes or freestyle)

I'm not sure if this is what SUPER was describing though, his post was a little vague.

When doing the drum training.... I had to hit the left cymbal 4 times... I did so... and each of the 4 hits registered, but I only heard one....

This, combine with what you said, makes me worried that they botched the stereo/surround sound again....

I wouldnt jump to that conclusion, i've been having trouble with my speakers for a while now. They're cheap little ones my ex got me to plug my mp3 player in to, but decided to use with my wii so i could get stereo sound since my TV is mono. Made playing RE4 a more awesome experience than if i didnt have them, but they've been messed up for awhile.. the cables slightly worn so sound cuts in and out if moved even slightly.

By the way, anyone with the wii version wanna play online later?

To clarify, the issue I was having was with the pad registering a hit at all, not the volume of the instrument playback. I've seen a few posts on the GH and gamefaqs forums about the same issue (and also a lot of posts about worse issues and having no issues at all).
